Buzz Buzz - You've Got Mail!
Overall, Beeble doesn't really impress me.
When using services like Proton, you can't help but draw comparisons and Proton is just lightyears ahead...and free.
Sure, Beeble offers a cloud storage component, but it's very, very basic at the moment, and it's a little interesting because you have to actually go into the storage to send a file from there in order to attach it to an email currently being drafted; you are not prompted there's an option between a local and cloud file to share when doing so from an email.
There are other products out there, such as pCloud, that offer not only encrypted file storage, but also the ability to receive uploads from others. The Beeble storage solution feels a little...weak because all you can ever do is save to and save from, but never receive in a manner that makes sense to clients for example, outside of receiving a file via an email then saving it to your cloud storage. It's weird and cumbersome.
I also can't help by wonder why Beeble uses a PWA and seems to have little to no plans for an app at any point. Even other email clients, such as eM Client, offer PGP Encryption keys so that you can sign and verify emails from an 'unsecure device' - without the need to go through a cloud service.
There seem to be a lot of "roadmap" items in their pricing (that's the only explanation I can come up with in regard to some having purple check marks and others being grey), which are...okay, but nothing that really wows me.
Give the size of storage and past experiences with other AppSumo deals that involve storage, I don't see how Beeble walks away from this deal with only a sliver of the profits and maintains and supports this deal long-term without significant outside investment, because the product right now has a long, long way to go before ever competing with an industry standard solution, and I honestly don't see it lasting long enough to ever get there.
