Q: Does this comment tool also work on static image mockups such as jpg or pdf?

Yes, you can! Here is how it would look like as an example: https://share.justbeepit.com/screenshot/65def0e6a97166001545a752?project=true
But currently you can use it only on images and pdfs that are online. For example if you just open a local image you won't be able to comment on it since there is no url for that image. Also important to note for images and pdfs, depending where you open them, it may not always show on the correct location on the live screen, BUT you will still always see the correct location of the comment on the screenshot that it takes with every comment (like in the example I provided).

Hi DevintheDeveloper š
Yes, it works! We've got over 150 design agency teams that use Beep specifically for this purpose.
As long as those static images are anywhere on the web, you can create comments on them, and share those comments with anyone. You can even attach files to clearly show coworkers/clients what you want the design to look like, or give them an asset to insert (you can attach unlimited number of files, with a generous total/collective file size of 50MB).
Best way is to demonstrate and show you! Below is a link to a collection of different comments I created on 3 different types of images online using Beep.
With Beep, you can group comments into such collections using either hashtags of your choice (which is what I used - works exactly the same as when used in social media) or assigning comments to a project folder.

I hope this answer helps :)

Where are we supposed to host the images? I'm looking for a tool that allows users to upload their jpg and pdf for comment like markup.io does.

Hi Devinš
Replying to your latest comment, right now you can store your files in any cloud storage, for example google drive. Then you just open your files in Google Drive and use our extension to leave comments directly on the file in Google DrivešŖ . Also we have in future plans to let users upload their files to our system and store them in Beep.
I hope this answers your questions. If you have any more questions just hit reply or reach out to us at [email protected] , we usually reply within an hour and are working hard to roll out new features every week š
