Good, Basic Task Management in a Project Context
These guys have put quite a bit of thought into a project management experience. They've boiled it down to a simple "what-where-who" task and project presentations. They have a "simple" (personal project--aka "to do lists") and a more complicated (professional project) option for creating projects of differing types. If you are looking for more complicated resource, expense management, critical path lines, etc. ("real" project management), this is probably not what you are looking for. If you are, on the other hand, looking for something to replace Trello or Basecamp, then this may work out nicely.
There's not a lot of fluff. Each section, of the app, has a tutorial video and the FAQs seem to be quite extensive. Again, they've put quite a bit of thought into how to make a complicated product a little more intuitive. The project and task screens are easy to explore and almost document themselves.
We're still exploring, but like most of what we've seen so far. There are places, however, for the product to be improved:
There is no dark mode. If you are working on something, late into the evening, you'll need dark glasses :)
The mobile apps could use some work. The iPad app, in particular, is simply a big portrait rendering of the mobile apps. A tablet app should, ideally, mirror the desktop experience. Again: no dark mode--which is a problem for night owls.
Speaking of apps, there is no desktop app. These are easy to build (browser in a wrapper) and it should be done.
We found a time zone bug. Right now, when we create tasks, whether through the browser or mobile, they are created in GMT+5. You can change this in the project settings on the desktop, but if you create a project in the mobile app, you have to wait until you get back to your desktop to fix the problem.
Overall, however, we're going to give this one a five-taco. We believe the team to be dedicated to improving the product. The company seems reasonably well-capitalized so, they should likely be around for a while. Look it over. If the constraints are acceptable, it seems like a pretty good value.
