Potential With Plenty of Problems
I bought two codes and have Birdseed set up on my site and I think thre's lots of potential here but there are lots small and large problems.
Let's start with the good:
It's really easy to set up and customize the engagement tools are very good and the live chat is the easiest to implement that I've seen and tried (and I've tried plenty!). The ability to set up custom links is brilliant. They have a Schedule Meeting Tool which only works with Google Calendar (and I wont use Google Anything) B U T ... with custom links, I've been able to set up an engagement link over to my Book Like A Boss Page or meeting type - so I'm quite happy with that. Also with the Chat Tool, the ability customize the the custom questions and fields works the best I've seen.
But there are plenty of bugs and problems so here's what I've discovered in a short time:
1. The Birdseed widget doesnt work on mobile browsers. If I visit my own site on Android Phone or Tablet - no widget displays. Thats a problem when more than 50% of traffic is mobile - no widget = no chat, no engagement and missed opportunities.
2. On my desktop browser, I've got an add and popup blocker - Popup Blocker = No Birdseed Widget. Web have no idea theres a chat or engagemnt widget when the ad blocker is on, and therefore dont know to turn it off in order to engage with the site owner.
3. There are standardized engagement video inviting visitors to engage with each tool. These videos are meant to be user replaceable with Youtube or Vimeo videos, but they dont work - I've been told that is a known issue that will be addressed but no time frame has been given. I can live with that and have just removed all the standarized videos
But the big problems for me are no widget on Desktop with Ad / Pop Up blocker and No widget on Mobile Browser.
I've marked my calendar for 58 days and if these issues are not fixed by then I'll have no choice but to request a refund. In the meantime, the widget is useless because at least 75% of visitors wont even see the engagement tool so I'll be using a different tool for the next 59 days and maybe there after.

Thank you for taking your time to write a review and I appreciate all of the time you took into writing each part of it. Certainly we have things to continue to improve upon, but am glad that you find value in some parts of BirdSeed currently. As we address some of your concern in the next few weeks, I wanted to mention a few things you included in your review:
1. BirdSeed should absolutely work on mobile. We are continuing to work on the button appearing in all Ipads, but that should be resolved this week. Was there a particular browser you were using? Again, I can look into with a few more details, but just went to our website a minute ago and the button appears just fine for me.
2. Add-blocker I would have to look into.. does it block products on other live chat companies website? If so, what would you suggest we do? If there is a particular product you use, I can look into whitelisting us so that it doesn't happen anymore, but I am not familiar with that happening.. please just let me know the name here and I will look into further.
3. Uploading Youtube/Vimeo is an issue as of last week. We have tried to fix it, but there were a number of items related to it, so it just took longer than we hoped. It should be resolved within the next two days, just had to switch resources over the weekend. If you are able to check into it by Wednesday, you should be all set!
