Great bang for the buck

Despite being a startup, the team behind Blastable has gone above and beyond to provide exceptional support. Their commitment to helping users succeed is truly impressive.

I’m surprised by some of the low-star reviews mentioning its lack of cold email features—it’s clear that Blastable is designed to focus on high deliverability, and it excels at that. If you’re looking for a tool that ensures your emails reach the inbox, this is the one.

The value for money is outstanding—big bang for the buck! I haven’t even scratched the surface of all the features they offer, but I’m excited to explore further. Blastable is already proving to be a solid investment.

Highly recommend for anyone serious about deliverability and email campaigns!

Tremendous Value & A Very Intuitive & Powerful Tool For Scalable Optimized Deliverability

No, I am not an employee nor was I paid for this review.

Ironically, it comes from someone who purchased the product and loved its ease of use, value, and power and because we are sending out refresh and colder campaigns, we are not the ideal fit for a reputable platform like Blastable as 10% open rates will not cut it.

This product is ideal for any business that needs to communicate efficiently and quickly with established customers and typically gets open rates of 25 to 50% neighborhood.

As we all know, the most important component of email marketing is getting your message to the inbox, and Blastable gets that done extremely well. They are very protective of their IPs reputation and ensure that only messages that adhere to best practices are allowed on their platform.

So, if you are a high-volume spammer, this is not the platform for you.

However, if you are a legitimate business that needs to communicate with your customers and get inboxed, then search no further because, for the price and what they provide, Blastable is the way to go!

Autoresponder, Automation, Contact Import/Export, Robust API, (Pabbly, Shopify, 'custom unsubscribe page' and more on roadmap), friendly support

______

TL;DR -
Large agencies may want to look elsewhere
Everyone else should seriously consider Tier 3 and above.

I use SendFox (ESP), Convertbox (landing page), and Book Like a Boss ("ThankYou" page)
along with some duct tape - this ad hoc stack has served me well for several years now.
Along the way, I have also invested in Encharge and Zagomail ESPs, but actually used SendFox.

Blastable caught my eye recently (with their bold, Miami Vice/Miami Subs color scheme.)
After watching Dave Swift's Blastable review on YT, I purchased Tier 4 (Tier 3 and above allow
up to 5 "sender profiles," so you could potentially send from up to 5 different domains, if needed.)
While cold emailing is NOT allowed, transactional emails and affiliate marketing / promotion
ARE ALLOWED (contact support for best practices.)

Most ESPs charge by the total number of contacts you have (like Blastable's plans on their website.) However, for AppSumo, the Blastable LTD Tiers are based on monthly sending credits.

For example, if you purchase Tier 1 (20k sends), you can have up to 20k contacts.
If you purchase Tier 3 (100k sends), you can have up to 100k contacts. Send limits reset monthly; contact limit is capped by Tier. Deleting contacts will make room for new ones.
Unsubscribes, do not contacts, and bounces DO NOT count towards your contact limit.

After the AppSumo LTD ends, If you need additional sending credits (i.e. a special sale event),
Blastable has temporary options available. Justin has stated - "you’ll be able to purchase
pay-per-send options to send more emails on a pay-per-use basis. We don’t have pricing
for this yet (though it will be heavily discounted compared to our normal pricing)
as we are in the process of building it out."

The onboarding process couldn't be simpler.
It's important to note, that when you upload your list,
Blastable uses their own internal email verification system,
so there is a some delay during this list import verification process.
They recommend importing 1000 contacts at a time to warm them up to Blastable.
Blastable also has plans to offer email verification embedded within opt-in forms.

Custom fields can be added into a URL (i.e. first name, email, address, etc.)
using the tokens provided or any custom tokens you want to add yourself.
Blastable has an AI feature called "perfect timing" where an email can be
delivered when the subscriber is most likely to open it based on their behavior.
Alternatively, you can also send email to contacts at a certain time in their
time zone across the board (i.e. 8:30 am = 8:30am in THEIR time zone.)
Blastable claims deliverability is "over 99% as far as emails being delivered...
average open rates are between 32-33% across all emails sent on our platform."

"Advanced Segment Creation" is included with Tier 3 and above,
but "Super Customized Segmentation" is planned for Q1 2025.
Yes, there's a 'Powered by Blastable' logo at the bottom of every email,
but soon this will contain your affiliate link (if you join their partner program.)

Several points of concern (that were pointed-out in Dave Swift's Blastable review on YT)
were fixed very quickly (be sure to read comments below the YT video.)
The team at Blastable have been very responsive on AppSumo, YT, and via
their internal support messaging system within my Blastable Dashboard as well.

If you think you have outgrown SendFox, you should seriously consider Blastable.
Would I like the option to remove the logo? Sure, but even SendFox charges you more
(per month, as I recall) if you want less branding, custom HTML, etc.

I give Blastable 5 Tacos because it meets my current needs
and feel that Tiers 3 (and above) offer excellent bang-for-your-buck.

[Upgraded To 3 Tacos..."Stay Tuned" :)] Support Issue Worked Out - "It's Time To Make The Donuts!" Will Report Back

[11/19/24 Update - Worked out Support Issue - we were using different email addresses. Katie has been great. Still haven't fully used/tested the platform - that's what we're doing now. Will update Overall Rating once we've put it through it's paces.]

I've messaged them when their little Chat Widget says "Hey We're Available" and I've messaged when it doesn't say that. I've used a lot of platforms like this over the years and I'm looking for answers to some basic stuff but haven't heard back. Hopeful that this will catch someone's attention and get a looksee.

I will say that the ELECTRIC BLUE BUBBLES with WHITE TEXT make it nearly impossible to read what things are - especially inside the Automation Creator as you can see here https://share.zight.com/nOu20Ozr

Still hoping this thing will work - haven't even had a chance to send any automation campaigns yet to see if it hits Inbox or not. Will happily change the rating if it turns out otherwise.

As far as the white text on the blue bubbles, I can see it fine on my end on my desktop and laptop, but depending on your brightness and contrast settings can see how it might be a little more difficult on your end.

Tool looks great, but I don't want the icon in all my emails

Sadly, I am returning this tool. There is no way to remove the branding, even when buying 3 or more codes. It is a no-go for me.
I briefly tested, emails didn't arrive to my gmail, but that could be something I missed or that it took longer. I did not test extensively to see why.
The tool looks amazing if you are ok with their branding.
I tested plain emails, those don't seem to have the branding, but unfortunately, there are no line breaks either.

Hey mate!

There is a small image in the footer at the very bottom of the email broadcasts sent in all accounts which is well addressed /documented in many of the questions for this deal. They are not branded emails but a tiny image that says Powered by Blastable which we have been very upfront about.

This will be able to be redirected to your affiliate link in the near future and you'll be automatically be able to earn lifetime recurring commissions with no extra effort on your part.

Not well suited for importing large lists

I tried to import several thousand emails and failed. It "suggests" that I only send 1000 addresses to begin with. So I uploaded 1000 addresses. I found splitting the list for import to be unreasonable. When I tried to upload more emails, I found out that only 1000 emails can be imported per day.
If the quality of the list is a problem, the bumps and fails might better be identified when the first thousand emails are sent and then stopped if necessary.
But limiting the import is the worst way of ensuring quality.
This hindrance makes it hard to continue trying out this tool.

I have asked support for help and am now waiting to see if there is an improvement. If that happens, I will report here and re-evaluate if necessary.

Hey mate, for all new accounts we limit list imports to 1,000 contacts at a time/per day for the first import or two until email blasts are sent and we can see the results and engagement of the imported lists. This is temporary.

The reason we do this is to see the quality of the contacts ppl are importing... if they do really poorly or are a bad list, then a large import can affect our sending reputation and IPs which can affect other users across our platform. This is why we have a limit.

If you have imported a couple of lists and gotten great results blasting then the limits will be raised or removed... but please also bear in mind, when moving to a new ESP there is a small warmup period and you can't go from 0 to 100k in a day, so it also protects your sender reputation and the integrity of your email lists and sending. which is another reason we have the limit.

It simply prevents abuse and improves deliverability across our platform which benefits everyone using Blastable.

For established and proven accounts there is no limit.

Jackpot! Blastable feels like I bought into Mailchimp on day zero with their functionality of today

Let's be honest most people will compare SME EDM platforms to Mailchimp still. I was an early adopter of that platform and it is interesting to see how it has developed. With Blastable I get the impression they are a top competitor of Mailchimp and other more mature platforms straight out of the gate. This thing delivers and I am looking forward to seeing where it will still go. I purchased Tier 3 and although that meets my immediate and near future needs I'm considering upgrading a further tier or two.

Rock-solid

I’ve always been a bit wary of email marketing tools because they tend to overpromise and underdeliver. But Blastable just delivers as it promises. At first, I was hooked by all the cool features that seemed just right for my growing business. What really sealed the deal, though, is how rock-solid it is. I’ve run several campaigns without any hiccups, no downtime or glitches. There was this one time I needed to send out a campaign over a holiday weekend, and I was super worried about getting help in time. But the support team came through fast, and everything went off quickly. If you’re fed up with unreliable services, Blastable might just be the reliable partner you need.

A very intuitive tool

Finding the right email marketing tool felt like searching for a needle in a haystack. After trying several options that didn’t meet my needs, I stumbled upon Blastable in AppSumo. What really impressed me was how intuitive the platform is. I’m not the most tech-savvy person, but I found it easy to navigate and set up my campaigns without any hassle. This is also the real game-changer for me that it's a system that is easy to use for a non-tech guy.

Great Delivery, Automations, Simple UI - Needs work on Email Forms, Integrations, Email Templates

I will give them the benefit of the doubt because of the generous email limits on this deal and the deliverability, even though it needs to include email form creation. We need to be able to edit the forms inline instead of editing the text on the side panel. We also need to be able to auto-align elements and space them out by entering numbers such as padding, etc. Some email form templates have alignment issues right out of the box.

What it excels at so far from testing is Deliverability to my Gmail, which ends up in my inbox. It didn't go to the promotion tab or spam, which is the most critical aspect of email software (Deliverability). I did send it from one of my domains that has been used before, so it is recognized. I would appreciate it if anyone could do a test from a new domain.

One of Blastable's key strengths is its user interface, which is notably simpler and less complex than other email software like Tarvent (currently on AppSumo). This focus on simplicity is a significant advantage in the email software market.

The Email Design Template module is all right but could be better.

I loaded a test email list I built in Aweber, but it was rejected because I needed to answer their questions in time. Now I know you have about 24 hours to respond, showing that it is a warm list, which it is. I have sent Aweber emails to them with good delivery. It took their team 24 hours to review my imported list, and I had 24 hours to respond.

I will do a more extensive email delivery test by building a list within Blastable single opt-in to update my review. I will also test the automation and autoresponders. I have designed some and like the layout, but I need to test them on a list I build within Blastable. If the tests go well on a larger scale, I am considering getting more Tier 6 licenses as long as I can combine them into one account.

One area where Blastable could improve is in its integrations. The lack of integration with ConvertBox is a significant drawback, as it forces users to resort to webhooks with Albato. A direct integration would preserve the auto-tagging ability within ConvertBox, enhancing the user experience.

Please consider removing the Blastable branding, at least at Tier 6. By keeping it on all Tiers, you are definitely missing out on Sumoling sales. I understand including it on Tiers 1-5.

Hey Jake, thanks for the detailed review, mate.

Email Deliverability is what we specialize in, so happy to hear your first test email ended up in your inbox in Gmail :)

The templates and form builder are on our roadmap to improve in the near future and we will always be getting getter and improving everything to be the best that we can be...

Instead of trying to do everything all at once and being a jack of all trades, we wanted to focus on one core element of emailing and that is getting emails to the inbox because at the end of the day if your emails don’t get delivered, it doesn’t matter how pretty they look. That’s why we’ve focused on a simple to user interface, but use powerful technology behind the scenes to help make this happen.

We do check an approve all imported lists which usually happens automatically within a few mins unless we detect an anomaly on the uploaded list, such as a percentage of invalid emails above our threshold.

As far as ConvertBox, they would actually have to integrate us, not the other way around unfortunately...

Wanted It To Work - but it didn't

I wanted this to work to move over from Active Campaign as it's expensive.

However, it was a bad experience.

Firstly, Blastable's own transactional email went into "spam". Also, a test email also went into spam. I didn't dare go further than that.

Support was not good at all. Sometimes they responded immediately, and at other times (when I tried to mention the above), their response was very delayed and furthermore they didn't really read what I had written and misinterpreted what I said and kept giving explanations and excuses that didn't make sense or because they didn't really read what I said.

For example, I asked them why their transactional email went into spam, and they responded as though it's my transactional email - but it's theirs, not mine. And when I asked why my test blast went into spam too, they said it was blank - which wasn't true. I sent a normal email with subject and text. And they kept talking about how gmail needed warming up, when I wasn't using a gmail but a proper domain email. So they obviously aren't paying attention to what I've been communicating through support. It gets tiring to explain things over and over again.

I also don't know how a product that claims to optimize deliverability with AI have their very own transactional email go to the spam folder. Transactional emails are not meant to go to spam at all. So there's something really wrong here. Again, these are NOT my own transactional emails - this is their own email from their own domain!

I tried this product because I wanted to test email deliverability. That's my main purpose. I have about 25k emails - all warm emails and not cold at all. All opted in emails. If they can help me get good deliverability as they claim they can, I'll be glad to be proven wrong and change my rating. However, if support is going to be slow and not read what I have to say, then I don't want to waste my time.

No one likes a 1-star review, but it’s even worse when it is inconsistent and inaccurate.

I had our team do some research on this (which is why this response is a bit late), since it is unlike any customer experience I have ever seen on Blastable... and we’ve had thousands of customers.

Let me address some things said by the reviewer:

1. “Support was not good at all.“

Their first message was on September 16th and they received a response exactly 15mins later.

That doesn’t sounds like bad or slow customer support to me.

Let me also add that September 16th was also the day we launched on AppSumo, so we were incredibly busy, but our team pulled out all the stops to get back to everyone quickly.

Not only that, but also on September 16th, one of our customer experience managers spent over an hour on live chat with this person helping them set up his account, import contacts, diagnose his SPF and TXT record issues, address automations and more. We could have simply referred them to our support videos and tutorials that show exactly how to do all of this, but instead helped them personally, one on one. This was also on launch day.

Maybe it’s just me, but that seems like pretty dang good customer support.

We even took it a step further and sent them a follow-up email later that day to make sure they were all sorted and good to go which resulted in another live chat where we continued to help them even more.

The next day on September 17th, we sent them another check in email to see how they were getting on with everything to make sure they were all set. We did not receive a reply to this email.

2. “transactional email went into spam”

The next time we heard from this customer was on September 20th when they asked why their transactional email went to spam. This was at 2:44am our time. We responded at 8:26am our time. They complained about the slow response. We explained that that can sometimes happen when we email someone for the first time and depends on his spam filter settings and a lot of other things out of our control.

3. “I asked why my test blast went into spam too”

This customer sent a blank email as a test to their gmail inbox from a domain they had never sent email from before. Sending a blank email with no content from an ESP you have never used before from a domain name you have never sent email from before would usually be blocked outright, but that explains exactly why it ended up in his spam folder which is due to the reputation that Blastable has with gmail. When sending email to gmail, the reputation of the sender matters more than anything else and sending a blank email from a domain with no sender reputation is a recipe for disaster. It’s like trying to get a mortgage for your home when you have no credit score or credit history or job.

We did not misunderstand any support questions asked by this customer - in fact it was the other way around which is why we had to spend so much time helping them. They are entitled to their opinion, but after all the time we spent helping them... to leave a 1-star review saying our customer support is bad is just not cool. We went above and beyond with personalized and proactive support and offered to help them in as many ways as we could. I honestly do not know what more could have been done.

Blastable Review: 5 Tacos 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮

I recently had the pleasure of using Blastable, and it has genuinely exceeded my expectations! From the moment I started, the ease of use stood out. Setting up the app was a breeze, thanks to its intuitive interface. I was able to get everything running smoothly in no time, without needing any extensive technical knowledge.

One aspect that truly impressed me was the fantastic support from Ryland and her development team. They went above and beyond to assist me with customizing Blastable to meet our specific needs. They helped us integrate with their API, which provided the best solution for our unique requirements, The level of detail and commitment from the team was remarkable, making me feel confident in the decision I made to use their platform.

After experiencing the support firsthand, I decided to upgrade to Tier 3 instantly. The value and capabilities at this level, combined with the exceptional assistance provided by the team, made it a no-brainer. It's clear that Blastable invests in its users and prioritizes making the experience as seamless as possible.

The only drawback I've encountered so far is the branding in the outgoing emails, which currently features the Blastable logo. However, I'm confident that if fellow Sumolings share this feedback, the team will be open to working on a solution to remove it in the future.

Overall, Blastable is a fantastic tool backed by an incredibly supportive team. If you're looking for an easy-to-use solution with great customization and stellar support, I highly recommend giving it a try! You won’t be disappointed

Really Loving Blastable - What a Money-Saver!

I am currently using Mailchimp (with Sendfox as a backup), and I've purchased other email systems but found them not reliable or having poor deliverability. Today I purchased the 3rd tier of Blastable. Setting up the domain in the system was fast and easy. I had one hiccup in the set up, which was the system said I wasn't set up to import emails. So, I sent a ticket in (there's a built in ticketing system in the dash), within a few minutes the ticket was assigned and a few minutes later my account was fixed. The responsiveness of support was great. I then transferred a small list from Mailchimp to test it out. The user interface is really easy to use and pleasant to work in. If you've worked with Activecampaign, you know how a poorly designed interface is difficult to navigate. Blastable's interface is great in comparison. I sent out a blast to the small list of 187 people that I imported and watched the metrics for the day. So far, my open rate is 37.43%, which is comparable to the open rate for that same list in Mailchimp. I did see that about 15 emails got returned to me from Yahoo/Aol accounts, but I believe this was just because I didn't wait for the DNS to fully propagate and yahoo turned them away because there was a mismatch. I don't believe this was related to the software. I very easily connected the Blastable system to OptinMonster via Zapier, no problems. Based on my experience so far, I intend to max out the tier and move the rest of my lists over to Blastable saving me a couple hundred dollars a month. Great work so far guys, looking forward to your continued growth!
