A very weird deal for an exceptional piece of software.

Exceptional software meets an amazing price. However, this deal is impractical for 98% of businesses and is ultimately being used as a sales/marketing hook to purchase their hefty subscription.

Part 1: The Software By Itself (5 of 5 Tacos)
First of all - even with limited time using the software, it's obvious that it is exceptional. Well designed, everything I've tested functions how it should, etc.

Part 2: The Price (5 of 5 Tacos... sort of)
$20 for lifetime access? Ummmm, yes please. It's literally a no-brainer.... or is it?

(Edit) Part 3: The Lifetime Deal (2 of 5 Tacos)
Ok.... here's the catch.
With this deal you are limited to only 3 active projects and 1 workflow. Unless you're just starting out, you'll blow through these instantly. There is no code stacking, there is no upgrade path if you need more than 3 active projects/clients, except for, you guessed it, an active monthly/yearly subscription. This makes your exceptional lifetime deal transform into a (edit) $204 yearly purchase.

(Edit) There are 2 bonus perks you get to keep by spending $20 on the Appsumo "Lifetime Deal" that a customer who purchases on their website does NOT get:
One is doubled storage of their base plan (from 50gb to 100gb). Nice, but not essential.
Two is that if you do upgrade from the $20 plan to their yearly plan, you get 50% off that yearly plan for life. Typically, you only get 50% off for the first year. (They changed this after user feedback on Appsumo).

This offer on AppSumo is essentially serving as a marketing/sales hook to get us to purchase their $204/year software.

TLDR/SUMMARY:
If you have only 3 projects that you work on at a time, HECK YES, buy it now and buy it fast - this is a 6/5 Taco deal for you.

However, if you are like 98% of really small businesses that need a project management program, who work on more than 3 projects at a time, then you MUST look at this as if the REAL cost of Bloom on Appsumo is:
$204 per year + $20 (to get your double-storage and 50% off lifetime bonuses)
If you were already going to purchase a tool like this, some of which cost $240-$350 per year, then I say it's a decent deal. Not amazing, but fair.

Overall, 4/5 Tacos because the $20 price is exceptional for what you get, but it's not really a practical lifetime deal, and I'm pretty certain they know that.

I don't fault the Bloom team because they're trying to make a business run for profit. I'll bite on the $20 deal for now. I'm going to try and make it work somehow by only billing out 3 projects at a time through the program. If I need more projects, I'll consider alternatives before committing to the $204/year plan.

Hi there and thank you for your feedback! The AppSumo deal features the Bloom starter plan, which is intended for side-hustlers and those just starting their independent journey.

Keep in mind that the AppSumo deal also gives you a lifetime 50% upgrade option AND double the storage. This alone makes the offer 10x more valuable.

Hope this helps you make your decision to stick with Bloom 💐
