Has hope for the future, but currently an unrefined product.

My thoughts come from comparing Boardmix with another whiteboard app — EdrawMind (whom the creator was apparently a part of) — which I already have a LTD license for and use as my main brainstorming tool.

Nnaturally, the two products share many similarities with the overall look and feel of the UI being nearly identical. This made it easier for me compare and, unfortunately, I feel that Boardmix is still currently in an "infant" stage and has a long ways to go compared to EdrawMind.

Here are a few reasons why:

::: The onboarding after purchase is unnecessarily complicated and unintuitive.

As others have already alluded, when you first 'activate' the product, you're still under the Free plan and cannot access the Pro features. You first need to (1) create a team account, (2) manually refresh the page, then (3) wait for a popup to show, where you can finally upgrade to the Tier purchased on AppSumo.

It should be as simple as proper access being given immediately upon 'activating' the license and creating the account. Also, not sure why it default to the 'Personal' workspace when opening the app, requiring the user to select the Team each time so that they can use the Pro features.

::: No dark mode or standalone app for iPad (as of writing this review).

I just don't understand the mindset of devs who release a product — in this day and age — without including dark mode or a standalone tablet/mobile app, especially for a whiteboard app like Boardmix where people likely spend many hours staring at the screen or brainstorming and ideating 'on the go' with their mobile/tablets.

::: UI is difficult to navigate. Hard to tell what some icons are for. Limited options and variety with some of the layouts, shapes, connectors, fonts, etc.

::: Target audience isn't clear. Every now and then I see Chinese characters or fonts being shown, even though I set the app language to 'English.' It's as if they built this app primarily for Chinese users, then slapped on English support as a secondary feature. I don't know...the app just feels 'foreign' to me.

::: Lack of proper documentation and organization for things like the roadmap and FAQ/instructions on using the app. The dev seems to give out links to a shareable Boardmix board, instead of a properly documented page or knowledgebase on their website. I think these are the little things and nuances that investors notice and the style of communciation needs improvement.

Overall, I just feel like Boardmix is still in its early 'infant' stage, compared to other known established apps like EdrawMind. Sure, it's up and running and selling here on AppSumo, but there are many little things that need to be refined and improved from a UI/UX point of view.

I will be getting a refund and will stick to EdrawMind as I feel it's a far superior product at this time, but will keep an eye out for Boardmix in hopes that it will become a more 'mature' product in the future.

Best of luck to the creator and devs.

First of all, thank you very much for your attention, we are doubling our efforts to bring you a better user experience.
Secondly, reply to your questions:
1, the default login into the display is a personal workspace; this problem will be solved in the middle of next month; the subsequent display is the team workspace!
2、Dark mode and applications International version is not available at the moment; but they are in the planning; will be supported later!
3、UI is difficult to navigate. hard to tell what some icons are for. limited options and variety with some of the layouts, shapes, connectors, fonts, etc.
--- Can this issue be described specifically?
4. Roadmap, FAQs, feature descriptions and videos will be updated in the future!
