Q: I want to use this for 3 different websites.
Is the custom domain CNAME option usable by each page embed or is it only 1 domain name?

May 14, 2024A: It is currently only 1 domain name. But we had a discussion about this today.
We've decided that we will release a "Multi-brand add-on" as part of our roadmap for all tier 5 purchasers. This will include:
- Branded URLs for multiple clients (for request forms and embed URLs). We still need to decide how this will work best from your point of view, so please see my question below.
- Customisable consent management. So you will be able to create a unique thank you message and consent terms for each project (testimonial request form). This will include rich text, so you can link to Ts&Cs if required.
Question we need answering:
For the branded URLs, we need to know if a subdomain, or fully custom domain would work better.
We noted in our discussions that it might be difficult for an agency to ask their client to update their own CNAME records in order to create a fully custom domain (e.g. testimonials.[clientname].com), and it might be much better/easier for us to offer a subdomain instead (e.g. [clientname].[agencyname].com), where you would be able to set up the CNAME under your agency brand, and update the client subdomain without needing to pester them.
Please can you let me know your thoughts on the above? Is our thinking correct here, or is it easy to get clients to update CNAME for you? If you actually own all three brands I assume this will be easy.
Features not included, that may form part of a full Agency plan in the future (but we have no date and can't commit to this yet):
- Branded notification emails, e.g. "testimonial started", "testimonial complete" emails to have client branding. This is just a lot more work, and more of a white-label feature, and we can't commit to that right now. What we might do is just let you switch these off as part of the multi-brand add-on, but I can't commit to that yet.
- Workspaces with different user access levels. So you could invite clients into specific testimonials projects. I have another question here:
Would you need clients to access the Bonjoro portal at all? Or is this never a requirement? Would a "share" link that gives them a view of all collected testimonials work well instead?
Hope this all makes sense. Any questions please ask.
I purchased a tool called Social Juice a while back, and it works pretty great, and it allows me to do custom domains, but it does something different than your tool. I like your page in bed, and I like the design of how your testimonials appear. I like your page in bed, and I like the design of how your testimonials appear Personally, I would only be interested in doing something like testimonials.[customdomain].com.

Hello Oli. In response to your two questions...
For the branded URLs, your thinking is correct. We are an agency with 100 clients. Most of our clients would not care to have a full-custom domain name. Nor would they bother to set up the CNAME. We would want the subdomain, [clientname].[agencyname].com because it would promote our brand via the domain and give our clients a little ownership with the subdomain.
Reviews make or break our clients' sales and marketing. The future workspaces are critical. Our clients would definitely want a private portal they could access and maintain testimonials. Of course, the agency should have access to all portals.
I hope this helps. :)
