Lifetime AWS hosting for $25 per site.
Well, I'm a web designer, so I run my web servers with my wordpress, my fancy themes, builders, everything. So I knew that Bookmark wouldn't give me all the tools I am used to, and I knew that nothing would beat my setup. But I still got the deal. Why?
First of all, the AI thing. It sounded pretty cool to have a machine doing basic drafts for you so you could start working right away. And how well does it work? 50/50, I'd say. Some results look pretty bad, other look fine, and some look quite good.
Then, there's the bookmark builder. Like I had expected, it doesn't come close to Divi, Themify and some others because you're limited to their design elements. Also, their grid system is somewhat confusing. Their overall interface is quite simple, and once you find your way around the blocks and grid system (which works a little bit different than in other builders), you'll be able to get at least some decent results.
The builder still needs a lot of work if they want it to become the number one builder solution. For example, I couldn't change the background of one section to parallax, instead, I had to insert a different pre-made section which already had a parallax background and then copy all the elements from my old section to my new one.
Some awesome features of the builder include their broad selection of stock-images, their image editor and the integrated cloud-drive. Some of the missing features have been added through POWr, an online widget site, but you'll pay a hefty premium to be able to use blocks such as their tabs or video sliders.
The builder includes 21 basic blocks, four e-commerce blocks (requiring an additional subscription) and 49 POWr blocks (including the POWr branding, that can be removed by a monthly subscription per block). This isn't bad, but I hope the team will add some more basic blocks in favor to the POWr blocks in the future.
The last thing I have to consider for an AppSumo review is the deal quality. For 50 bucks, you'll get two AWS-hosted websites for life (which is already a pretty good deal). Also, the bookmark support was quite helpful (I had quite a few tickets at the end of the day, and they answered them all). They fixed a bug on my site, listened to my feature requests and overall did a pretty good job to convince me.
While the Bookmark product would get a 3/5 from me compared to other website builders, with a potential to 5/5 for ease of use and if they nail that AI thing, the overall deal has to get 5/5 tacos. You get hosting. You get their support. And you get access to an AI-powered website builder that might become very powerful.
