Quick Test...Not a Fan
I bought this for use as a "modern" version of Audacity (I only trim and do basic audio correction, so calm down if you think that's an apples-to-oranges comparison.
The UI of Bouncecast was not easy to figure out. The best LTDs I've bought just have an intuitive enough interface that you can figure out quickly then dig into the knowledge base for specific issues – lots of clicking and useless buttons. For example, I thought the "i" was for a knowledge base so I could learn what I was doing...nope – it just tells you the version/copyright/etc.
The "smart" feature seems to only make audio louder...with no regard to removing background noise, etc. And it seems that you can only improve audio when you directly speak into the app...not for prerecorded audio...I may be wrong, but the button option wasn't selectable when I tried.
The software is very pretty – that's all I can say at the moment as my initial impression is of frustration. This thing definitely needs some tooltips, a wizard tutorial, and a knowledgebase/chat button in the corner.

May 9, 2024Hey Sumo-ling,
thanks for your feedback! Let me address those issues right away.
This is the first live version of our product, so there can be areas where we can improve - this is why it is critically important to get your feedback (thanks for this!). We have been brainstorming on how to onboard people, and a tooltip -like UX tweak could definitely work.
For the smart enhancement:
Under the hood our analyzer goes through the whole audio file, then makes adaptive adjustments to fine-tune EQ, compression and limiting. These are done automatically. Then, if a user wishes to add special processing (which is not always the case as some people want to keep background noises on purpose -- when you are in a cave, and wanna make the point of being in a cave) -- they can easily click those processors on or off. Currently we've developed Noise reduction, Click reduction, Rumble filter (taps or walking), and for stereo audio we also have the Stereo balancing option. These can be found behind the "Medkit" -icon.
I will put your feedback to our dev & ux team, to take action.
Cheers!
