Q: Use case for an online course creator

Hello,
As an online course creator, I want to optimize my time and energy by identifying topics with high levels of interest and high buying intent and also by identifying market gaps. One way to do this might be to look at questions and comments that are posted on Quora, Reddit, Pinterest and LinkedIn. Another way could be to look at course offerings and reviews on sites like Udemy, Coursera etc. Can I use BrowserAct effectively for my use case? More importantly is it legal for me to do so? Specifically does BrowserAct respect the Terms of Service of these sites? Does it comply with their requirements as stated in their robots.txt? I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

A: Hello, great question — this is a very typical and valid use case.

From a capability perspective
BrowserAct is well suited for researching and extracting information from publicly available web pages, such as:
public questions and discussions on Quora, Reddit, Pinterest, and LinkedIn
public course listings, descriptions, and reviews on platforms like Udemy and Coursera

In practice, it automates the manual research process you would normally do in a browser and turns it into repeatable workflows to identify high-interest topics, user needs, and market gaps.

From a compliance perspective
BrowserAct operates through real browser actions and focuses on publicly accessible data. It does not provide mechanisms to bypass permissions or access private content.

Whether data collection is appropriate depends on two things:
whether the data is publicly accessible
whether usage follows the target website’s Terms of Service and usage policies

If your goal is to identify high-demand course topics, uncover user pain points, and spot market gaps, this is a very typical and well-suited BrowserAct use case.
