Could you add a "Redirect URL" column to the articles table?

Right now each row in Notion = one blog post. The idea I'm suggesting is adding one extra column called "Redirect URL." If that column is left blank, clicking the blog post tile just opens the article normally (exactly like it does now). But if there's a URL in that new column, clicking the post instantly redirects visitors to that external link instead.

You've mentioned that many have asked for paywalling, and you've understandably said no plans to build that. This redirect option is lightweight and solves the same thing—allowing creators to easily send readers to Substack, Gumroad, landing pages, etc.

BTW, adding this redirect feature would move me from Tier 3 or 4 to Tier 6; I bet that's true for other Sumolings too. Would love to know if this could get added to roadmap.

A: Hey,

That honestly sounds like a good idea, for having older urls redirected. Help me understand the paywall side though - if you add an external link to your blogs to redirect users to Substack/Gumroad/etc, then how would you provide access once they are paid members?

There are a lot of tools (many on AppSumo!) The one I'll use is SpreadSimple. Spreadsimple is a front end for selling digital products. On a "premium post" click, the redirect takes end-user there and that page lets them pay, and then delivers digital content directly to them via email they used when paying. So many tools like this! So easy to monetize with this combo! Begging you: please add! :)

Hey! I just wanted to bump this in case you missed it. Hoping you can say if this will be put on roadmap /eta because trying to figure out if I go Tier 6. Thanks!!

Cool idea. I'd actually like to use Buildfast as a blogging option within Spreadsimple itself, rather than rely on Quickblog. Spreadsimple has built-in Notion integration, but you can't create a reverse proxy so far as I know. Any chance you can integrate with Spreadsimple? If you can make that work, I'd also purchase a Tier 6 in a heartbeat.
