Where things hit a snag: the documentation. There was nothing explaining how to set up a root domain, only a generic subdomain guide. I tried searching help docs and even asked the ChatGPT but both fell short.

The silver lining: Support. Parul from the team responded within 24 hours with a step-by-step solution for root domain setup, and even checked in after to ensure it was working. The “human touch” more than made up for the missing doc.

Performance & Real-World Use

Blog content syncs directly from Notion, which is a massive time-saver. No more wrestling with complex CMS plugins or broken formatting.

Speed is where Buildfast truly shines: from first click to first published post, it took me less than half a day, even counting DNS propagation. With WordPress, this would have meant a day lost to plugin conflicts, caching setup, and security hardening.

The platform is SaaS, so there’s nothing to update or maintain—no more plugin panic every time there’s a vulnerability.

Where Buildfast Falls Short

Documentation is still immature. Root domain setup, custom paths, and troubleshooting require either guessing or reaching out to support. This gap could frustrate users who prefer self-service or late-night launches.

Templates & design: Currently, Buildfast offers just a handful of layouts and minimal customization. If you want pixel-perfect control or complex landing pages, you’ll feel limited.

Not for: Agencies needing white-labeling, marketers who demand pixel-perfect design, or anyone wanting to build complex membership or eCommerce features.

Buildfast does exactly what it promises: gets a clean, SEO-friendly blog live at record speed. The support team is a true asset—without them, the incomplete docs would be a deal-breaker. If you want to skip the “plugin rabbit hole” and just start writing, Buildfast is honestly one of the best AppSumo finds I’ve made this year. I’m keeping my code, and if they add more templates and beef up the documentation, I’ll probably stack more.

Setting up a personal blog using WordPress can be quite a hassle, both in terms of configuration and ongoing maintenance. Despite purchasing numerous Wix alternatives LTDs, I found that the time required to create a site remained similar, often with additional limitations. That was until I discovered Buildfast—it truly lives up to its name. The setup process is incredibly swift, with themes, styling, page pagination, and other elements pre-configured to look great right from the start, requiring minimal editing. Customizing the style is effortless, and in less than half a day, I was able to familiarize myself with the platform and build my entire website with my preferred color scheme and font styles.

The website loads quickly and drastically reduces the effort needed for site management, bringing it close to zero. While I do wish that "comments" were an available feature, the seamless integration with Notion is impressive. The ability to publish articles through Notion is a delightful surprise.

In comparison to WordPress page builders, Buildfast does lack some functionality, particularly when it comes to design widgets like those offered by Elementor. It appears that available widgets are limited to Notion’s offerings. I do hope future updates introduce features like a masonry-style image gallery and the ability to upload multiple images simultaneously.
Overall, Buildfast is an excellent choice for bloggers seeking a simple, fast-loading design without the burden of server or website management.

Buildfast is probably one of the most useful tool for SEO blog that I used since several years. The UI is perfect, everything looks good and quite easy to set up. Plus, the team is really active and pleasant. I recommend.
