Checked the functionality of buildin.ai.
Have a bit mixed feelings.
Like that it transfers notion kan ban boards in buildin.ai.
But it is for me certainly not a tool that replace all my other tools.
Still need:
raindrop for my bookmarks
Notion for my boards with a geo mapview
noition for my gallery views, photos are displayed as miniatures iso in the full card
Amplenote for my markdown notes, (nested) tags are not supported
Notion for the integration of the google calender. the calender view supports only one board, not an overall view. And I do miss a weekview.
Google Drive to search in my pdf documents
Joplin as a webclipper, better then what buildin is offering
Getrecall for my you tube transcripts
For now I will keep my tier 1, as I see potential in buildin.ai.
And to be fair, there is much more software on the market that offers less possibilities for much more money.

The features, ease of use and finish of this tool are great. I get all the functionality I wanted and so far all is working well. Really recommend this.

A little bummer: I thought I could easily redirect my own URL to my buildin site, but that's not how the custom URLs work. Also, you only get one, even with 4 codes. You want another one, you need to buy more codes.

To be honest I rarely used notion but in the last time there was the requirement to work with another person in a good wiki with some project management functionality. So I just checked and bought Buildin.

To be honest: For an AppSumo Deal is really impressive and with mature functionality. The iOS App, the Mac App and also the Webinterface is quite good. I have some minor issues while copy in the iPhone things to Buildin but thats not worth to mentioned. I really like the "offical" part and the "private" one, for copying things together. It's a very nice UI and everthing goes quite smooth.

Keep up the good work! Really corious of what comes next!

I appreciate this AppSumo deal, because Buildin provides many Notion-like features that I could use. Though Mem AI is my main AI notebook, it doesn’t provide features like block editing, advanced tables, and public sharing of notes and documents outside the platform.

Likes:
- Side Peek is great for adding and reviewing content.
- Toggle blocks help keep pages clean and organized (you use them a lot).
- Synced Blocks are useful for reference content that’s pasted into multiple pages.
- Previewing inline links (inline link preview) is very convenient when browsing notes.
- Templates and the quick “+” sidebar workflow make it fast to start new pages.
- Really appreciate the iOS versions of Buildin.
- The monetization feature might be useful when I figure what I could sell.

Issues / Friction

- The developers’ website has numerous articles comparing Buildin to other apps. That’s great. But there should just as many articles showing how to use Buildin’s features. I’ve been watching YouTube videos about Notion to get some ideas about using Buildin.
- Database blocks placed at the top block adding content above/below (can’t insert sections around them).
- “Convert to Weblinks” often fails to show feature images (web/desktop inconsistent; iOS shows about half).
- Weblink items can’t be edited to add a heading or custom thumbnail (would be useful).
- Gallery descriptions do not display under thumbnail images. You have to click on the thumbnail to see the description.
- No way to select multiple blocks and merge them into a single block.
- Some UI/features are inconsistent across platforms (image/display differences between web, desktop, and iOS).

I’ve bounced between a bunch of project tools trying to get my act together, but everything still felt scattered. Then I spotted this on AppSumo — its clean-simple, Notion-like vibe caught my eye, so I picked it up. I’m not tech-savvy, so at first I wasn’t sure where to start. But once I dug into the features and saw how deep it goes — without even touching the AI yet — it completely changed how I see organizing my projects and workflows. For the first time, it feels like everything has a home. Huge thanks for creating this and bringing it to AppSumo. I’m excited to keep discovering new ways to use this gem.
