SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Finally made my way over to Burst. Purchased the. LTD about 6 months ago and I gotta say I’m really disappointed.

The concept is great and the sales pitch is spot on BUT the product is anything but.

For something that is meant specifically for UGC to not be mobile optimized is honestly mind blowing 🤯!

No getting started videos- just a cluttered dash (on mobile). The dashboard is outdated, it’s hard to navigate (impossible on mobile) the user interface is a little confusing.

Then we get to the help section- not very helpful. Blurry screenshots, and minimal text and the only video tutorials are a 60 cartoon explainer (sales pitch) and a bunch of UGC from High Profile media outlets using burst 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m kinda disappointed, if this was a beta launch it would be one thing but from the looks of it burst has been around for years. Some of The help docs were dated 2017.

With that said, I can’t imagine it getting any better than what it is- it doesn’t look like there’s a roadmap in play or that they even care enough to make any updates considering all the unanswered Q’s on here.

Trust me & Save your $100.00.

Burst Is A Bust

This is an excerpt from my full review at Bellybutton.blog -

1. The interface and nomenclature are confusing and counter-intuitive. There is very little in the way of helpful interface design or tool tips to guide the way, and most confusing for me, the button for the Bubble admin link is labeled “Burst UGC link.” According to their help files, which are available via a floating element in the lower-left corner of the site, a Bubble is burst when its time has expired. Since I had spent all that time setting up a Bubble, I was loathe to click a link that might undo my work.
2. Customization is non-existent. For example, I’d like to be able to add a message to our concertgoers on why we’re asking for their name and email (to credit their submissions, not to market to them) but there’s no option to do so. I’d also like to thank them after their submission, and perhaps direct them to a landing page, but again, no option.
3. The process doesn’t seem very well thought out. For example, I had to pay extra to send two texts, one with the submission link and one with the link to view, when a better process might have been for Burst to show a thank you page after submission with a link to view the Bubble, or to just take them into the Bubble. Instead, the users are shown a blank submission screen again with absolutely no feedback on whether their submission was even received.
4. Search feature is inoperable. I queried the search separately by both bubble and media, and none of the options worked. At all.
5. The dashboard option to “approval all media” doesn’t work; in fact, the interface consistently showed I had no media awaiting approval when in fact, I did. I only discovered this by actually going into the Bubble, where I was able to approve Pending photos.
6. Site is not optimized for mobile. In fact, it is so difficult to use in the field, I just gave up and waited until I was at home in front of a laptop. When setting up our event Bubble, I chose for submissions to require approval before they could be shown (nice feature), thinking that I could approve them real time using the mobile site. I’m on an iPhone 14 Pro Max, and even with all that extra screen real estate, I was unable to navigate the page in either landscape mode or portrait, in either Safari or Chrome. This seems to be a HUGE oversight on Burst’s part since UGC is, by nature, generated in the field with mobile phones.
7. From what I can tell, AppSumo plans only get two bubbles at a time. Again, the site is very confusing so I may be wrong on this.
8. Downloading the submitted content is also pretty counterintuitive, and downright confusing. We had 40 images submitted and the results are displayed 15 images at a time, so 3 pages worth. There is no option to Select All UNTIL you check one of images; you don’t see the check until you hover your mouse over the image. ( I had to access the help files to figure this one out. )

Free but ...

Had this for ages but just tried it for a particular need that it seemed suitable for... Android app last updated 2017. My phone even gave me a warning when I ran it. Quick uninstall. Next...

3* rather than 1* because I'm feeling generous but basically it's pointless.

Great offer if you are happy with image filesize max 100kb and only 1 user. Became very disappointed when they downgraded me to this AppSumo deal after 7 days. Alot of wasted time 🤬. In my frustration, anger and misstrust after contacting their ignorant support about the matter. I was forced to look elswhere for a similar but sustainable solution, I found Picvario that I gladly invested $139 in. That could have been money invested in Burst, but that will never happen now after their missuse of my trust for them as a reliable and trustworthy long term supplier/partner.
