The offer looks promising, but I echo my fellow Sumolings need for multi-client access. For a medium to large company $199 is a great deal, but for a entrepreneur, solopreneur, or micro-business (5-50), the pricing is a bit heavy on a per client basis.
That said, kudos on the SWOT analysis via AI. Maybe some of the cost can be reduced by allowing us to use our OpenAI account and leverage your logic models. Some kind of happy medium, but I do not know enough about your product or pricing model to recommend anything that might add substantial value.
Again, welcome and I wish you success on your campaign!
Each workspace has unique URLS as do the "feeds" for example:
Workspace: https://app.butterflye.io/WORKSPACENAME Public Feed: https://app.butterflye.io/@UNIQUENAME/public-feed
Feeds can also be password protected to add another layer of security.
Security features: 1 - Unique URL's for everything 2 - PW protect feeds 3 - Protect workspaces via adding a domain for user access i.e. users under domain x can access the workspace
We will be adding true "custom domain" optionality as part of our Roadmap to allow companx.com/butterflye down the line. We have a large number of updates being pushed out over the next month that will greatly improve the functionality of the app. Grab a bargain today!!!! :)
A: Hi Scott, thanks for your Interest in Butterflye! Let me answer the 2nd part first. Searchable and categorized feeds are already in the development roadmap. If you subscribe to our Public Feed https://app.butterflye.io/@butterflye-public/public-feed) or our Roadmap https://app.butterflye.io/@butterflye-public/butteflye-public-roadmap) you can keep abreast of when we release new features. As far as the questions on Cookies, we have a cookie consent notice which shows up for every new visitor. They can easily reject the tracking cookies. Let me know if you have any more questions.
At the moment each workspace comes with 2 public feeds - 1 changelog and 1 roadmap.
The name format is https://app.butterflye.io/@butterflye-public/public-feed - the @ is the name of your workspace and the tail / is whatever you call that feed (editable in the settings).
If you want multiples then you would need to purchase more workspaces.
We are working on a feature where you can add more feeds to your workspace (a week or two out).
Domain names - we are working on allowing the customer to use their own domain as well. This is a few weeks out also.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any further clarification and I would be happy to jump on a call.
Q: I want to use this tool as a comms tool for each client I have a current project with to provide status updates when I've done something.
Each client needs to have their own "feed", and it should only be private/accessible by them where they can write feedback and get updates on their feed. The area could be public but accessible through a direct URL eg. software.com/3dsaf3 that goes to their feed that I could share with this client. I then am just selecting the feed I want to add the update to but just using the one dashboard. can this do this within the LTD?
With each workspace you will get 2 public feeds, each with a direct URL. One is meant for your company updates and the other for roadmap. Although you can use for whatever use case your require.
In order to add more public facing feeds, you will need to add more workspaces either via the free broadcast option (limited functionality) or by purchasing another workspace.
It would be great to talk to your specific use case so please let me know if you would like to join on a call to discuss.
Thanks a call would be great James, I have set up a trial version to test it out but can't work out where broadcasts are in the public feed to set up.
Also, there could be potentially up to sixteen clients at a time that I'm working on, so a feed for each would be good. I don't really want a different workspace as that then defeats the purpose of making it easier for me to just write a status for each client from one dashboard. I'm not sure if this is possible though.
Q: I like the news feed functionality but are you planning to add widgets so I can have it natively on my website?
Is there a table that compares the features of a ‘paid’ workspace vs. a ‘broadcast’ workspace?
Reading previous answers seems that difference was the possibility for customers to provide feedback . However, you stated that the feedback feature will be included even for ‘broadcast’ workspaces, correct?
A comparison table would be really helpful!
2. What does this mean?
Automatic workspace assignment by email domain
Is it that users with emails @domainA will be automatically assigned to WorkspaceA, and users with emails @domainB will be automatically assigned to WorkspaceB?
If so, could users with emails @domainA be automatically assigned to multiple workspaces?
The tier1 plan is closer to the business plan. The tier2 is basically our enterprise plan. Both available at a heavily discounted price :)
We are also adding features all the time so you will get the benefits of these when released. For example, we are just about to release our widget functionality that allows you to make the change log part of your website. This will be live next week.
First, Here is the link to our pricing page. The AppSumo Tier 2 subscription is equivalent to the Enterprise plan. And for a crazy good price! As far as the Domain matching yes you can add a domain to multiple workspaces. This allows users with matching domains to automatically be authorized for those domains. Let me know if you have more questions.

Thank you for your interest in our app. I will try to answer you questions 1 at a time:
1 - What is this tool? - Butterflye is a customer and employee engagement app - Picture this: You're tired of weekend crises, frustrated employees, and customers asking, 'Why wasn't I told about that?' That's exactly why I created Butterflye. We're the employee and customer engagement app designed to prevent those headaches. We empower companies to share critical updates, gather instant feedback, and take swift action. With Butterflye, you'll never hear that question again, and your organization will thrive with seamless communication and alignment.
2 - Something like Jira? - We believe the app can be complimentary to Jira and other tools out there. Our goal is to ensure that everyone is on the same page and has the ability to feedback their concerns when needed.
3 - Who is the target customer - We look at this as targeting the people implementing change i.e. Product managers, Ops, Engineering, Marketing and Product Marketing. They need to communicate to the rest of the company i.e. Customer Success/Support, Solutions Engineers etc. This is where the internal collaboration and feeds come into play. Subsequently, your customers need to know about things too and thats where your external/marketing friendly feed comes into play. In each of the feeds, your internal/external customers will all be aligned and able to provide feedback of which you can action. Support calls go down, Mondays become less about "fighting fires" and more about getting on with everything else.
4 - What do you mean by collaboration here? - Within the app you can choose to simply post an update, article or whatever to your feeds. However in some scenarios, you may want you product team to inform the whole sales team of an upcoming update or idea. Here you can start a capture then pull together a collaboration ticket and invite sales as collaborators. This way, the teams on the revenue side can have a voice. Say, a large customer has an edge case, it so happens the sales person knows about this... they can inform the PM's that we may have an issue here and get it resolved before it goes live and causes days of stress etc. As we build our the app, we will add further functionality to the integrations with chat apps.
I hope this all helps and please let me know if you have any further questions.
A: Yes - The main workspace is the paid account that has all the collaboration features plus more. A broadcast workspace simply allows you to publish a customer facing page with updates. You can add more workspaces under “broadcast”.
Thank you for the explanation, Jeff. I appreciate it.
Q: Hi, as an agency i work with multiple clients and would be useful to have a tool where they customers can ...
send feedback and build a roadmap, etc. Can i invite my clients to different workspaces without they see other projects? There is a custom domain where they can show this feedbacks to the final customers? thanks.
Each workspace has its own public feed. The paid workspaces allow for feedback to be given.
With each AppSumo instance you get a singular workspace and feed.
You can add further "Broadcast" workspaces at no extra cost. These do not allow for feedback however as that is part of the paid plan. With this you can direct you customers to their individual feeds however.
For example - Workspace 1 - Paid AppSumo Tier 1 or 2 - Publish External feed for your company and send to you customers. They can then provide feedback on your posts. Workspace 2 - Braodcast tier (free) - Publish an external feed for your customer "X" - they can be directed to this feed and see everything you post to it. They wont be able to provide feedback however. You can upgrade this secondary workspace if you so with.
Its more of a tool to collaborate on certain topics/tickets that come through. We do have an integration into Slack that posts any new feed updates to a channel of your choice.
I will add a feature request for the feeds to expire after a certain time.
Q: Hello, I am looking for a way to work with external clients.
Specifically, it is about processing and support in the event of a claim. The customers should be able to take part in a conversation easily (without having to create an account/user and password) and the information channels should work bidirectionally - i.e. not only can I easily send the customers the current processing status, but also that the customers can feed comments and media back into the feed. Is this possible with your software?
With the public feed, you can publish any updates or comms here. The customer can then provide feedback on each post. The customer does not need a login.
Internally, you also have access to an employee feed. This operates the same as the public except it requires that your user login to provide security for sensitive information.
Lastly, we are working on the 2 way feedback. I.e a customer provides feedback and the creator of the comms can reply directly.
Examples of public pages: You can check out our public roadmap here: https://app.butterflye.io/@butterflye-public/butteflye-public-roadmap Also see our News feed here: https://app.butterflye.io/@butterflye-public/public-feed
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Q: Can I turn off tracking cookies on the product feed pages?
- I can't have ANY non-essential cookies for my EU and UK users because of ePrivacy regulations.
Can I use this for sub-products, considering using it for online course updates - but it would need to be filterable by course to be valuable?

Q: Hi - does this currently (or is it planned to) support a domain name (CNAME) per workspace?
I work on several projects and would like to keep everything separated, even branding if possible.
James_butterflye
May 15, 2024A: Hey,
Yes, we plan to support CNAME. We are actually discussing this on our product call this week.
Each paid workspace can be branded with a banner and logo.
I hopes this helps.
