Big news from the Castmagic team - we've been hard at work since our last appearance on App Sumo and after just shipping our biggest update since launch, AppSumo Day 2026 felt like the right moment to flip the switch with a fresh LTD window.

This isn't a "we added a few buttons" release. It's a structural leap in how you can use Castmagic.

🎙️ Castmagic × Claude (MCP Connector)
Castmagic now plugs directly into Claude as an MCP server — meaning your entire media library, transcripts, and AI-generated content become a queryable knowledge base for Claude and any other MCP-aware tool. Build powerful workflows inside Castmagic, or take it to the next level with Claude agents that pull from your recordings and media library on demand. For the first time, your audio archive can act as a first-class data source for any AI assistant.

🎙️ Record + Import From Almost Anywhere
Capture a voice memo straight from your browser — no upload, no app to install, just hit record and we'll transcribe and generate content in seconds. We also massively expanded URL imports: paste a link from Apple Podcasts, YouTube Podcasts, Instagram Reels, Tiktok, X, LinkedIn, Simplecast, Fathom, Zoom, Google Drive, RSS, and more, and Castmagic pulls the audio and runs your full content pipeline. Importing is faster, cleaner, and now covers basically every platform our customers actually use.

⚡ Transcription Upgrades: AI Cleanup, & PDF/DOCX Export
Transcription is noticeably more accurate across the board — names, technical jargon, and non-English recordings all come back cleaner than they did six months ago. Pair it with our new context-aware AI transcript cleanup, which fixes errors without losing meaning and tracks every edit so you can review or undo with a single click. When you're ready to share, download the final transcript as a polished PDF or Word doc, no copy-paste cleanup required.

👥 Speaker Insights
Every speaker in your library now has a dedicated profile page that shows every recording they've appeared on, the quotes attributed to them, and how often they show up across your content. Great for podcasts with recurring guests, multi-host shows, or anyone building a knowledge base of who said what.

🎯 Prompt + Archive Intelligence
Castmagic now ships with an AI Prompt Drafter. Describe the output you want in plain English, test it on a real recording, and iterate in a chat until it's dialed in. Once a prompt is in your library, the new Archive view lets you see every response that prompt has produced across every recording in a single tabular view, so you can spot patterns, refine the prompt, or batch-export results. We also added a global search that ranges across your entire library: transcripts, recordings, content, all from one bar.

💬 Magic Chat 2.0
Magic Chat now intelligently picks the right sources to pull from, whether the answer lives in a single recording or scattered across dozens, so you can draft, summarize, and remix without ever manually wrangling context. Ask it anything and it figures out where to look.

🌐 Rebuilt Public Share Pages
We rebuilt the entire public share experience from the ground up: token-based URLs, clean section navigation, an embedded Magic Chat for your audience, and per-recording analytics so you can see who's actually engaging with your content. Configurable titles and content settings let you tailor each page to its audience.

This is the version of Castmagic we've been building toward, and Sumo Day felt like the right moment to share it.

 We completely overhauled the interface to support side-by-side transcript + content generation, making it way easier to stay in flow and edit your AI outputs alongside your source media.

 Creating clips just got smoother. You can now generate, manage, and organize clips for your recordings from your dedicated Clips tab.

🎬 Studio, Rebuilt from the Ground Up

 Our Studio feature now has a fully revamped infrastructure, giving you a place to generate clips, browse past exports, and soon—more customization for visuals so you can craft better audiograms and captioned content with way more flexibility.

YouTube URL import has now been removed from the deal.

This comes in light of ongoing enforcement around YouTube’s updated Terms of Service, which prohibit third-party downloading. The current workaround is to use an external downloader and then upload the file directly into Castmagic. Should YouTube adjust their TOS in the future, we’ll do everything we can to bring this feature back.

We wanted to drop in with a quick update directly from the Castmagic team.

First up—YouTube Imports.

If you’ve had issues importing YouTube links recently, you're not imagining things. YouTube updated their Terms of Service and has been actively cracking down on third-party downloads. Even major platforms like Descript have deprecated YouTube importing entirely due to these changes. We’re actively exploring compliant solutions, but this one’s a tough nut to crack—so thanks for bearing with us. In the meantime, the best solution would be to use an external downloader and then import directly into Castmagic for all your content creation needs.

Next—Studio is our top priority.

We've heard the reports of export instability in Studio, and we’ve already rolled out several fixes to improve performance. But we’re not stopping there. Our current 6-week sprint is fully dedicated to Studio: adding powerful new features and customization options, boosting overall stability, and rolling out an upgraded UI/UX to make it even easier to create stunning visuals, audiograms, and captioned clips.

We’re super grateful for all the feedback—it directly informs what we build and how we prioritize. Your support means a lot, and we’re excited about what’s coming next.

I’m Blaine Bolus, co-founder of Castmagic and host of DTC Pod, one of the top podcasts in the consumer business space.

As a creator, I was constantly looking for a better way to extract value from my conversations and turn interviews into high-value assets for multiple platforms.
