I started using CastMagic a few years ago and when I got a chance to be able to get it here, I took it! I use it all the time. I didn't think that I would because I was "testing it out", but it literally saves me so much time in a lot of the work I do. Specially as a Coach, as a podcaster, and as an editor. So as you see I have different roles, and CastMagic has been a timesaver/lifesaver! At this point, I feel like I recommend it to most of my students or people who are creating content, which is most of us, right?

I bought Castmagic mainly because I have several educational YouTube videos and wanted to repurpose them into written content such as blog articles, LinkedIn posts, or X threads. I chose this tool after confirming it supports multiple languages, since my videos are not in English.

This review reflects my real, early experience after a few days of use.

Documentation (Major Issue)
The first big issue is the lack of proper documentation. There are no clear, detailed guides explaining each feature. I understand that creating full documentation takes time and resources, but for a product aiming to be global, this is extremely important.
They do have a Notion page, but it’s very basic and honestly feels far below what you’d expect from a serious tool.

Transcript Generation (Very Serious Problem)
Unfortunately, I faced a major issue with transcript generation, likely because my videos are not in English.
My videos feature a single speaker, yet the transcript appears as one long block with no proper timestamps or segmentation. Because of this:
- Automatic clip generation does not work
- I’m forced to create clips manually by selecting text
- This completely breaks the workflow
On top of that, I expected the clip feature to automatically generate videos in short-form formats (Shorts/Reels) with proper scaling and framing. Instead, the video is simply placed in the center with captions.
In 2026, with how advanced AI tools have become, this approach feels outdated compared to competing tools.

Performance & Stability
The platform feels somewhat slow, and on multiple occasions when importing a video from YouTube, I encountered errors and had to retry several times until it worked.

Text & Article Generation
For converting videos into written articles, I’d rate it around 70%. The output is decent, but there’s room for improvement.
Since my language is RTL (right-to-left), the editor does not handle it well, which makes reading and editing more difficult than it should be.

Final Thoughts
I’ll continue testing the tool for one more week. If I don’t see noticeable improvements, I’ll most likely request a refund, especially since there are strong competing tools in this space.

I have appsumo tier 4 on magic chat from their previous run.

The tool is fantastic and I try to challenge the team to use it even more beyound the initial output, but to use e.g. things such as questions / themes from our meetings with success seekers (the young people we help) to identify trends / topics that we can build further content for.

It honestly saves alot of time.

Cons:

Transcription is not 100% accurate but it does a great job. Well done on this... and I am going to purchase the new tier 3 to upgrade my account.

Incredible product, and I don't even use it for content creation, funny enough! I purchased Castmagic shortly after they launched in 2023 and have consistently been using it on a weekly basis to transcribe my sales call recordings from my (free) Fathom account.

It is #1 for me for the most used app I have purchased.

CastMagic helps me to take sales call recordings and run it through AI with my set prompts and also MagicChat to talk to the recording, a nice added bonus. It does great at 'reading between the lines' of a sales call.

Currently, I have my set prompts for my sales calls with rpospects as follows: 1) Next Steps 2) Customer concerns, likes/dislikes & decision maker 3) Value Prompt 4) Biggest Pain Points 5) Problem to Solve 6) Current process 7) Customer insights 8) Key Topics & Bullet Points 9) Customer needs 10) Product Considerations 11) Questions asked 12) Competitors 13) Budget & Buying process 14) Engagement questions 15) Business Mentioned 16) Lead Magnet

Some of these overlap, and sometimes I don't use all of them. But honest to god, if you have a long sales cycle, as I do, this app is PURE 24K GOLD to send meeting transcriptions to, decipher & understand at the highest level.

I sometimes use it to take YouTube URL's and transcribe as well, not often. Last time I checked, this was working.

Blaine, one of the co-founders, even reached out to me back in the day, and we got on a call to discuss how I was using it because it seems I'm an outlier in the space, as it's marketed as, "Use AI to transform long-form video and audio into content for blogs and social media."

Support has been good, whenever I reached out, which was minimal. The team keeps adding to the product as well.

Again, hats off to the team. CastMagic has been a staple for me and my CEO to use.

... Maybe 1 day I will actually make some content with it 😂

Edit: You're right, what turned out to be a bug was short-lived, and we use it to this day. And so, based on your diplomatic reply coupled with an excellent product, I have changed the taco rating to 5. I apologize for not doing it sooner; I had forgotten I left this comment.
