Incredible product, and I don't even use it for content creation, funny enough! I purchased Castmagic shortly after they launched in 2023 and have consistently been using it on a weekly basis to transcribe my sales call recordings from my (free) Fathom account.

It is #1 for me for the most used app I have purchased.

CastMagic helps me to take sales call recordings and run it through AI with my set prompts and also MagicChat to talk to the recording, a nice added bonus. It does great at 'reading between the lines' of a sales call.

Currently, I have my set prompts for my sales calls with rpospects as follows: 1) Next Steps 2) Customer concerns, likes/dislikes & decision maker 3) Value Prompt 4) Biggest Pain Points 5) Problem to Solve 6) Current process 7) Customer insights 8) Key Topics & Bullet Points 9) Customer needs 10) Product Considerations 11) Questions asked 12) Competitors 13) Budget & Buying process 14) Engagement questions 15) Business Mentioned 16) Lead Magnet

Some of these overlap, and sometimes I don't use all of them. But honest to god, if you have a long sales cycle, as I do, this app is PURE 24K GOLD to send meeting transcriptions to, decipher & understand at the highest level.

I sometimes use it to take YouTube URL's and transcribe as well, not often. Last time I checked, this was working.

Blaine, one of the co-founders, even reached out to me back in the day, and we got on a call to discuss how I was using it because it seems I'm an outlier in the space, as it's marketed as, "Use AI to transform long-form video and audio into content for blogs and social media."

Support has been good, whenever I reached out, which was minimal. The team keeps adding to the product as well.

Again, hats off to the team. CastMagic has been a staple for me and my CEO to use.

Technical Challenges:

- Transcription accuracy isn't perfect and requires manual review, especially with accents or background noise.

Upload and Functionality Issues:

- YouTube link uploads sometimes can be non-functional which limits your input options.
- Upload failures occur occasionally, with some files failing at high completion percentages.
- The Studio feature has significant usability issues. (Based on other users feedback).

Processing Speed Variability:

- Processing can be slow for longer files, which can be frustrating when you are working on tight deadlines. You might be waiting longer than expected.

Edit: You're right, what turned out to be a bug was short-lived, and we use it to this day. And so, based on your diplomatic reply coupled with an excellent product, I have changed the taco rating to 5. I apologize for not doing it sooner; I had forgotten I left this comment. I am glad your return to AppSumo addressed it, so I can get it right.

I purchased the highest tier. Had issues from the start. Kept getting server errors and upload failures whatever I did - I deleted all cache, used other browsers etc. Reported the many issues to support who didn't even apologise after finally replying. She did tell me she would report to Devs, but no timeline for a resolution. I notice that the founder hasn't responded to questions here for a long time. He did respond to a question from me about the audiograms which contain a castmagic watermark, telling me it could be removed, but failing to mention that you can only do this for 10 audiograms, after which you are stuck advertising cast magic despite paying a thousand dollars to do so. I am pretty sure I am going to refund this. You can do what it does in Merlin Bots / Taskade / Meetgeek and the like, albeit less neatly. I was willing to pay to have it all done in one place, but from what I see and the lack of passion both for customers and development (let alone accurate answers to questions or even bothering to answer previous purchasers concerns in the questions), I can't see a long future for the product.

I think it really proves a point when you respond to my June review in December! You asked what I would want you to take a look at - exactly that - the overall attitude about customers and your response times!

This product has become vital in creating content types for our business from raw longform videos. I can’t believe that it’s back in sumo and it’s a definite must purchase. It’s easy to use has great support and the only thing I regret is I didn’t buy more minutes when I first bought the deal in my lifetime membership. That said I happily pay to get more minutes any month that I need. This is a product you can count on and I highly recommend five tacos all the way.
