Disappointing at Best
I really wanted to like this program. I purchased one unit, to take it for a test drive. It's ok, as a free program, but I don't think much of it as a paid program.
I don't think this app is ready for prime time. It has quite a few issues. As someone who uses Slack on a daily basis, for the last three years, I have to wonder, why anyone would believe this is a serious competitor.
* You have to sign-in each time and then go get a code from your email, each time you log in. This can be a real pain. No reason for this. Cookies would go a long ways to resolve this problem. Who does this?
* When I first tried to register, I couldn't because they said, that my email wasn't "secure." The same email, which paid for the service, which is good for Paypal and my Bank and Credit Cards, but doesn't live up to their expectations? Delusions of grandeur?
* No direct link to standalone Desktop App.
* Can't minimize Desktop App, once you do, you can get it to open again. It stays minimized. You have to reboot your computer and if you try to minimize it again, you can't access it.
* The "hide" feature for conversations, is too close to the scroll line, if you miss the scroll and click on the "x" aka "hide" feature, the conversation disappears. Should have a warning, so you won't accidentally delete it.
* No obvious way to regain a "conversation" you accidentally hid.
* No obvious way to remove a member, from a "conversation" aka channel
* Randomly places conversations. No obvious way to change the order of conversations aka channels
Out of all the programs I've purchased on Appsumo, I'd have to say, this is the most disappointing.
