• Is it open source, the GPL, or some other type of license?
• Can I see the sources?

That is a known issue with Windows Defender marking all apps that are being downloaded outside Microsoft Store as potential security risk. Some of the well-known apps pass the check but Windows is not aware about lots of smaller yet perfectly secure apps like Chaos Control.
Other than that, CC only uses local storage to store the data entered in the app. We are not in a business of data mining.
