Loving this App

I've been using this app for over a year now, and it's the best tool I have found to help keep me organized and not forget things. I have ADHD and always forget things that are not right in front of me.

I had tried many tools previously, but none of them worked very well and were abandoned within a few weeks. With browser-based tools, you need to have a browser open and a connection to the internet in order to use them. I would pin the tab so I would always see it, but often I would close the wrong browser window first and lose all my tabs and would forget about the tool, and end up missing important deadlines or appointments. Or sometimes I might not be connected to the internet or have the browser open and would then not get the notifications. Some other apps could only installed on one device; they wouldn't sync, or you would need an active internet or cell phone connection, which I don't always have, or they just didn't have the features I needed.

Physical planners rarely worked unless I made a point of always carrying them around, but would often then lose them or just forget to open them to look. Often the way they were set up didn't work for me either, and I would abandon them after a couple of weeks of use.

Chaos Control was fairly easy-to-use right from the start, but it took a little trial and error to figure out exactly how to use all the features in a way that worked for me. I have installed it on my home desktop system, my laptop, my tablet and my phone, so no matter where I am, one of these devices has it right there, and the notifications alert me so I don't forget appointments and deadlines very often now. Also having the app set to start as soon as your device starts up is a big win for me, so I don't forget to start it.

You can set tasks with repetitions, so they pop up daily, weekly or however often you set them to.

You can create projects with different tasks for them and set start dates and deadlines up for each task so it will appear in your daily task to do list only when applicable, and you can create a checklist inside each task in case you want to break them down into smaller steps. You even have a folder structure so you can put different projects and tasks into different categories and organize them in a way that makes sense to you.

I love the timer that tracks the time you spent on each specific task so you can check back later to see the total time it took and time spent for each individual session. There are also options for tagging your tasks by priority, color, or other means. The app has different themes you can use to customize it. You can also bookmark certain tasks or projects in order to find them more easily.

I really like that you can store files and images right in the app and have it synced with your other devices.

The most important things for me are that it can still be used when you are offline or out of cell service (which is often for me), and will sync as soon as you get back online, and I can install it on as many devices as I want and they will all sync, so I rarely forget important tasks and appointments now.

Since I've been using the app, there have been several upgrades, and each one keeps getting better. There is now the ability to use AI right in the app and to record voice, although I haven't used them yet, so I can't comment on how it works.

The only thing I would like to see added is something like a habit tracker that you can click each time you do something that might be something you do several times a day or a couple times a week but not at any specific times, so you can see how often you are doing the desired task (or bad habit). For instance, I ate healthy 4 times this week, and ate junk food 3 times this week, or drank 7 glasses of water today.

Overall, if you've tried other ways to organize your life and they haven't worked, then give Chaos Control a try to see if it's right for you.
