We can get our own API keys to use GPT-4.
But GPT-4 API keys are not open to everyone. There is no guarantee if we will ever get access to it.
So the real answer to most of us is -
No we can't use GPT-4 with Chatbase, full stop.
Would using GPT-4 make the chatbot solution we envisioned work? We have no way to verify but to stick with the half cooked GPT-3.5 bot. So this can only remain in the POC state.
Why aren't we offered to Chatbase's GPT-4?
Being able to use our own API keys should be a "choice" not a limitation.

May 15, 2024A: If we could, we would offer gpt-4 to everyone instead of the gpt-3.5-turbo as it would improve the quality of our product in general. Unfortunately, gpt-4 keys are limited like you said and we also get put on waiting lists to acquire the key. If we provided the limited amount of gpt-4 keys we have to everyone, no one would be able to use it due to the increased volume on just one OpenAI API account.
