Awesome tool (with a few caveats)

I now have multiple accounts from a variety of apps (Humata, Databerry, Chatbase, Chatsonic, and others).

So one of the first things I want to emphasize is that ALL of thee ChatGPT AI bots are wonky. They each have their issues, but some definitely more than others. But in the end, I'm actually using Chatbase now more than my other monthly subscription accounts.

My tips?

First, of all of the data source options, the website crawl is by FAR the most finicky. I've played around with it (a lot) and had it crawl some sites and literally minutes later, it's working incredibly well. I've also had it crawl some sites and it gives absolutely nonsensical replies.

So if you have a website that you want to use as your data source, have it crawl it and see if it works. If it works well, great!

If not, delete those crawled pages and start over. There is absolutely a reason why certain websites can get crawled and provide better results than others, but that has to do with many factors beyond the scope of this review.

The most consistent method for data entry is by uploading your own Word doc or PDF. You can also use the text entry box and literally just write the information you want to it use.

Chatbase (and the others) don't like abstract. For example, if in a given paragraph you begin talking about "item A" and "item B," as humans we know that any references to "they" later in that paragraph surely must be referring to "item A" and "item B," since those are the topic of discussion as defined earlier in the paragraph.

The problem is that when these chatbots start dissecting the information, they can easily get confused by sentences and phrases which are ambiguous. In the above example, if these chatbots can get confused as to what "they" is referring to. So whenever the chatbot is making mistakes, just rewrite the data in a way that keeps abstract references to a minimum.

Also, once set up, test, test, test. But don't test from within your account. Test it from an embed, so that those conversations show up in the converation history. From there, you can "revise the answer" for any incorrect/false answers it provides. Chatbase will prioritize those revised responses and override any previously-incorrect information it has stored within its database.

I could go on and on, but those are just my main tips. Definitely a great tool, but needs a little bit of effort and "fine tuning."

Thanks for the feedback! This is an amazing review.

All of those tips are great. We are planning on making a guide on how to create the best chatbot possible for any use case and we will be adding those tips for sure.
