Lifetime deal means nothing less than forever. Honor it or refund
I’m writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment. I bought a Lifetime Deal for ChatPlayground AI through AppSumo in good faith, paid in full, and received written confirmation that my licence was valid for life. Yet today I’m being told that the licence is no longer honored and that I must purchase a new one for $875—“only” $575 if I hurry.
Whatever the internal financial motives behind this change, they do not override a legally concluded transaction. A vendor can rescind a purchase only by issuing a full refund; anything else is a breach of contract.
AppSumo acted as the intermediary and guarantor of the sale conditions, so it shares responsibility for ensuring that customer licences remain valid. If the platform allows a partner to void lifetime licences without refund, it becomes complicit in what is, in my view, a deceptive business practice.
As things stand, this feels like nothing short of a scam against paying customers. Unless our original licences are reinstated or fully refunded, I—and a growing community of affected users—will make sure the story is shared widely across review sites, social media, and consumer-protection channels, naming both ChatPlayground AI and AppSumo as parties to the issue.
Honor the deal or refund us. Anything less is unacceptable.
