Beautiful but unreliable
I really love how this product looks and what I can potentially do with it. It's really a great product with the exception of it being immensely unreliable in an incredibly infuriating way.
I normally use Screencastify for shooting video responses for my clients. It's basic but super reliable. I record a vid and it's good to go. No messing around. I've recorded 3 videos with Clapboard and I've had to do at least 3 takes for each one.
If anything happens to your connection after you start recording it just bombs out and you don't realise until after you've finished because of course it's in the background behind your presentation or notes that you're recording based off of.
It is impacting my productivity at a level I won't tolerate for long, so please dev team, develop some temp local storage functionality ASAP with an upload upon complete function because I'm already super annoyed with it bombing out on me and i've only been trying to record 15 min videos.
If I was working on a 1 hour training vid and it did what it's done to me now 2 or 3 times already then I would suffer from a major sense of humour failure.
It is a great product visually and on paper, so I really hope this reliability issue gets ironed out because not everybody using the product is going to be on a fat internet pipe all the time and the product needs to be able to accommodate that. Btw my ADSL connection is capable of 6 mbps upload but sometimes the router disconnects devices. I suspect that's what happened here but still...the app absolutely needs to be able to manage the issue of small amounts of downtime.

May 9, 2024Hi,
Thanks for your feedback. We are aware that, there are issues with internet speed and if at times there is network disconnect. Be assured, that we are constantly working to improve the entire experience.
We have been constantly monitoring and trying to understand all the possible reasons which result in failure, at times, these are other than the network issues as well.
Future updates and releases will make this process better.
Thanks,
Ankit
