Loom alternative!
I am a tutor teaching in a tuition centre.
Due to covid-19, we had a lockdown, and I switched to doing lessons online. Then I decided to start recording the lessons for students to look back on, where I was introduced to Loom.
Then I found Clapboard. It was here for quite some time, and I thought I didn't need it back then. I tend to buy deals and not use most of them (a waste of $$ :( )
But Clapboard, I use immediately, and I have been a very happy user for the past 1 week. Almost everything is great!! Except for a few stuff.
(1) Time limitation of recording.
My lessons are 2 hours long, so that's my expected recording time. MAJORITY of the time, I get cut off from recording exactly at the 1 hour 20 minute mark.
It seems that I am only able to record a 2 hour lesson for the first time. It cuts off my recording every single time at the 1 hour 20 minute mark every time after.
While irritating, it can be bypassed by recording as part 1 and part 2 of my lesson.
Feedback have been sent to them and I was told this wasn't expected. So will just wait for the fix :)
(2) As educators, we sometimes give time trials to our students.
Whenever there are no activity during the time trials, and I let it continue to record, the recording will stop and there will be no videos recorded. This could be as short as just 5 minutes.
I thought there was a cut-off due to inactivity, and asked via feedback. Apparently, there wasn't.
So again, just have to wait.
Minor problems, but I'm happy enough as of now.
