Q: When I test your carrier detection, I get the company name of the license holder instead of the operator name.
Like SOUTHWESTERN BELL instead of Verizon.
In other tools, like Twilio, I do get Verizon...

May 14, 2024A: Hi Karel,
I would like you to share more information on this, please share the mobile number to us@Clearout.io
I sent you some detailed examples with the numbers.
Here are the issues without the numbers:
A Tracfone number:
I get a perfect answer on freecarrierlookup:
Tracfone - ATT
On Twilio, almost perfect as I get the MNO but not the MVNO:
AT&T Wireless
on clearout, I get the owner of the original MNC licence, which no longer exist:
NEW CINGULAR WIRELESS PCS, LLC
a Visible number (Verizon MVNO):
freecarrierlookup detects the MNO not the MVNO:
Verizon Wireless
Twilio detects the MNO not the MVNO:
Verizon Wireless
Clearout is WRONG in this case:
NEW CINGULAR WIRELESS PCS, LLC
a Spectrum Mobile number (Verizon MVNO):
freecarrierlookup detects the MNO not the MVNO:
Verizon Wireless
Twilio detects the MNO not the MVNO:
Verizon WirelessClearout detects the MNO legal name of the licence owner not the MVNO:
CELLCO PARTNERSHIP DBA VERIZON
a Three number:
freecarrierlookup detects the MNO legal name:
Hutchison 3G UK
Twilio detects the MNO legal name:
Hutchison 3G UK
Clearout is WRONG in this case:
O2
a Consumer Cellular number (T-Mobile MVNO)
freecarrierlookup detects the MNO not the MVNO:
T-Mobile
Twilio detects the MNO legal name not the MVNO:
T-Mobile USA, Inc.
Clearout is WRONG in this case:
SPRINT SPECTRUM L.P.
Globally, the results are often wrong or inaccurate... I purchase 10 coupons but I will get refunded if you can't improve the results as I can use this.
Could you provide MNC codes on top? So at least I could use those?
Here is what shared to Karel queries & for others to note
Currently, we do not provide data about the current carrier of a phone number, since it's hard to maintain the network carrier due to the number portability, we return only the original carrier of the number, in case if original carrier not found we try to resolve to the first license holder who has been assigned the corresponding range. Please check the inline comments about our findings

In year 2004, AT&T Wireless was legally renamed New Cingular Wireless Services, during those period if number allocation occurred then as per our record it would be "NEW CINGULAR WIRELESS PCS, LLC" carrier. From year 2005, new AT&T started marketing Cingular Wireless Services under At&T brand.

We constantly update our database, in upcoming releases, we will normalize the carrier names & standardize w.r.t other providers

basha, you guys should show the updated information I would figure, it;s not much use to see the original which could have been 15 years ago.
