I use background removal tools often. I have 1 or 2 dedicated tools that I rely on, but can be costly for larger batches of images, people, character poses etc that I would use them for. I tried others in line with this.
Tested 3 services side by side.
A main background removal tool, remove.bg, another lifetime service that I bought last year (And regret), backgroundcut.co, and this, clickmajic.

Based on reviews, I thought this was going to be a no brainer.

Tried a simple background remove with a friend of mine that asked me to redo their passport photo - easy enough. remove.bg didn't skip a beat. backgroundcut looked like it was cutting the hair out with child scissors, and clickmajic just was a mediocre middleground, with many gradiented sections of hair and other strange oddities that didn't look well.

Tried the same for a several other photos and use cases, each time the results followed about the same, just... mediocre. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong based on all the 5 star feedback, but then realized that the provider of the software rewards users with free background credits for reviews. If its a perk great, if its just to boost review credentials... bad form.

Again, this is not to bash on the software, and perhaps in time the ai can learn much better processes to handle hair and such, its just not something I would or can recommend to pick up and use right now - there are apps / services online that can do this level of removal for free, or included in other AppSumo listed products with similar results.

The results leave much of the background around areas that should be clean, without a weird gradiented edge and much more editing than really necessary for other products that catch it and clean it up right the first time.

I am very much looking forward to checking this out again in a year or so potentially to see if it changed or updated.
