A generous offer... but small agencies face a white label shocker.
TL;DR
If you don't care about white label at all, this is a generous offer with caveats. But the big deal is that white label will cost $1500. So I decided I won't use Climbo - at least yet! Climbo might be nice to use, and seems to be pretty simple, but ultimately I can do the same things using other means and other tools I've bought here and save loads.
GOING ON:
As said, this is a generous offer at a good price so I bought the "dirty label" basic Climbo offer, even as an agency, to see if I can make any use of it in some way. But WITHOUT white label and WITH the ethical and TOS concerns regarding "review gating" which Climbo can enable, it's unlikely. If there is any way to use it as-is in my business, I'll figure it out.
In the back of my mind as a possibility, is one of the most generous and useful apps that I've found on AppSumo. Great devs, super easy, and the app is getting better all the time...
RATEMYSERVICE.IO ( HERE on AppSumo >> https://appsumo.8odi.net/rate-my-service-csr ).
It embeds into your email, and for internal ratings and CSR feedback, surveys and accountability, RateMyService is perfect and simple. In addition, right now it's naturally white-label by function. Also, they have a great unlimited Enterprise offer. My hope is that maybe there's some way to connect Climbo and RateMyService to make cleaner use of Climbo? I don't know yet.
On the negative side, Climbo's own marketing sort of turns me off, and probably the NUMBER ONE reason I will never let my clients see their name. I would hate for my clients to look them up from my implementation and somehow associate my business with the way they sell the product on their website - or even find out just how I do business sometimes on the back end, which their homepage plainly reveals. I do not like the sort of affiliate marketing vibe of the whole thing revealing the sort of double-level operation.
In most cases (not all) I will never allow my clients to see anything but my branding. Sadly, Climbo strikes out with a white label option at a HEFTY price of nearly $1500.00!! That's on today's ticker... just weeks ago it was originally offered for $99!
If you read through the questions and reviews here you can see my concerns about this. Even without my concerns, $1500 for the many small agencies represented on AppSumo is outrageous.
But really, in my case, it's a matter of making a statement. No matter how good the app, I won't pay a massive fee when others recently have paid $99. Thankfully, we all have options. The devs can do as they like with the price - and so can I.
