My most traumatic LTD experience so far
I was first surprised that they used AppSumo to attract web marketing professionals. The license sold on AppSumo was only $50, but it allowed them to connect with digital marketing professionals, to whom they later offered a lifetime license for $3,000. Since the amount was very high for an LTD, I took it as proof of their seriousness and high ambitions for future product development. So I purchased a lifetime agency license. For 10 months, disappointments followed one after another. Little to no development, countless lies, too many bugs to use it with our clients and license prices that kept dropping over the months, falling to less than $1,000 in early January 2025, when they were supposed to stop selling them during April/May 2024.
These are dishonest and greedy people who take agency owners for fools.
Climbo was not GDPR-compliant, despite what they claimed in 2024. I requested a refund for this license, as the service does not have the characteristics that were advertised.
To keep it brief, I won't detail the automations that don't work, the promised AMA video sessions that never took place, the roadmap contributions that served no purpose, the slow-paced developments, the VAT that was integrated into the price I was charged when buying the agency white-label license (there's no VAT in my country), the misleading FOMO announcements about lifetime licenses that were supposedly about to be discontinued in favor of annual licenses exclusively, all the broken promises, the lack of transparency, etc. I must say that in 25 years in this business, I have never experienced such a succession of disappointments, failures, and lies from a single service provider.
They did absolutely nothing to promote the sale of annual licenses. No advertising, absolutely no investment in that direction. They stopped fixing the issues and adding new features on Climbo since May/June 2024 and they used our money and feedback to develop a competing platform named DropSaaS, released in February 2025, to to lead us toward a service where there is no choice but to accept a percentage deduction from our revenue, which is particularly dishonest and stupid, since many agencies incorporate this offer into a much broader range of services.
