Cloudimage

Q: Hi Guys, Interesting alternative to cloudinary.

I've recently started using Ghost CMS and wanted to know if you could do the same with CloudImage as follows: https://ghost.org/integrations/cloudinary/

If so, could you explain the code to make it work - I'd like to know before I give CI a try.

Thanks

A: Hi JPM,

That is a cool request, we haven't thought about this integration since there was no similar requests before.
But personally I love what Ghost do and follow them.

We can build a similar integration but with Cloudimage it would not include video optimization unfortunately.
On the other hand we can integrate it with Filerobot.com (but it is not a part of this deal).

In any case, I'd love to keep in contacts with you about this implementation.

By the way, I just added video optimization/delivery on Cloudimage public roadmap. Please vote on it and we will add it as a feature if there is a high need for it.

All new feature releases like these will be provided to all Sumolings.

I never thought about the video part, but hey if that's added as well - it could be worth looking at as a replacement for my Wistia package -- of course, I don't expect it have as many features as Wistia, just that it load fast and smoothly, and a customizable playbar.

I've taken Gumlet (for Wordpress sites), and it has been doing fine for us on the images side - though there's seemed cheaper than what you're offering. Also 1) a bit of confusion of traffic vs image cache, and 2) no servers within India, which is where we have 60% of our traffic coming from. India is going to be the largest consumer of content by 2023, so fingers crossed on your targeting that audience.

Hi JPM,

Thank you for pointing this out. I'll check on Wistia.
Regarding CDN nodes in India, we have plenty with Cloudfront or CDNetworks and we do have clients from India and so far it seems to work fine for them. But we will definitely are looking at how to expand there.
