Please add these MUST HAVE POWERFUL features!
- Group into container.
- I can select a node (with hidden ID), or a group of nodes (with hidden group ID), and ask AI questions to do something.
- Because I have many external tools that are more powerful than Nodeland's AI, I want Nodeland to focus strongly on its unique core strengths, meaning its distinctive features as software, rather than using AI to answer various questions or other functionalities that other software have. Some examples include: Nodeland's AI should be able to understand what I select and do things accordingly, such as AI formatting nodes, AI arranging nodes logically, AI renaming nodes with appropriate titles. To achieve this, AI must understand the IDs of the nodes I select.
- Nodeland should not be standalone software initially, because there is too much to do, risky and competition is fierce. Nodeland should be a hub, an essential part of our workflow in the begining, especially if we are accustomed to using tools like Taskade or Xmind.

Edited Aug 27, 2025Hi, smithqueen19910
Thanks for the tacos and for the great suggestions!
Grouping into a container will be added to our roadmap. Same for the AI improvements that you have suggested.
Regarding NodeLand’s distinctive features and competition: totally agree. Our positioning is a bit different from other tools.

Great mind mapping tool
This is a great mind-mapping tool and with AI built in to help organize your thouhgts, it is a steal of a deal. You can share and embed your maps, add icons and images, and even download a PNG or PDF to use for whatever you like. Can't wait to see how they might improve this app.
One improvement I would like to see is the ability to add text (as in type) while in presentation mode. Otherwise, the presentation mode only allows you to change the color of the background and add an image. Adding the ability for text and even to draw would make the presentation mode very useful... I mean I can use my Epic Pen, but it would be nice to have a pen built in. Just a thought.

May 2, 2025Thank you so much for the thoughtful review and kind words! It means a lot to us that Nodeland is helping you organize your thoughts more effectively.
Your suggestion about allowing edits in presentation mode is different from what we had in mind, but definitely worth exploring. We’re going to discuss it internally and see how we might play with this idea.
Thanks again for supporting Nodeland...

Left Wanting More
I really want to love this tool, but find it very difficult.
The AI is what makes this tool stand out. I'm using it to upload meeting notes to find links between topics. It does a magnificent job at this 50% of the time. The other 50% it just gives me the basic key topics with no connections. Sometimes it doesn't even do that and turns paragraphs into "Discussion 1" ,"Discussion 2", etc. The tool also can only do this for one meeting/doc at a time. You cannot upload multiple documents, have AI review it, and display nodes and links as if it was a single document. I did try manually merging two documents, but the output was not coherent and not usable. It's also not possible to put raw text in and have AI analize it unless you save it first and upload it as a TXT file. Once AI has generated a map I found using AI to be helpful only with batch operations to nodes, but to be more work with smaller tasks. For example, I asked AI to split a node into two, but when it did, the original node was not removed (also the new nodes were missing styling and icons that were added when AI initially generated the map).
The map canvas is pretty standard. I did find it odd that ctrl + click was the only way to select multiple nodes. Right clicking and dragging should let you do the same (check out Mural for building a good complex canvas). I also expected shift + click and alt + click to add or remove nodes from my selection. It seems there are stock images that AI can use when generating nodes in a new map but they are not accessible to the user. I wish there was a way to access them, use fontawesome, and build our own repo of icons for later use.
There's no folder structure, the tagging system isn't present on mobile and not well implemented on desktop, there's no way to set something as a favorite on mobile or archive maps. ADD FOLDERS and allow searching for "#tag" since tags can't replace folders (especially for mobile users). Once favorited on desktop you can't access favorites on mobile. On mobile you can't copy, delete, or share maps. This also means community templates are useless since they can't be duplicated. Locking, unlocking, and selecting multiple nodes in the canvas can't be accomplish. AI chat with a map, presenting, exporting, canvas colors are all missing from mobile. On both desktop and mobile, I did not see a way to do batch operations to maps such as adding a new tag or deleting several maps at once.
My experience using this product has not been great especially with my primary device being mobile. I keep trying to use the tool but there's quite a bit of work left for it to be useful.

Awesome for organizing thoughts
Kudos to the team for creating a flexible way to organize one's thoughts. My intent was to use it less for note taking but more for research organization. The AI-enabled start from tabula rasa is very powerful and the ability to interlink nodes in any way user wants is really helpful. I wish there were more ways to customize colors and shapes by default, but this will hopefully come along.

Love it
This is an amazing product. What I love the most is the embed feature that allows me to display mindmaps on my blog. This could be anything from breaking down complex ideas, to mapping my blog content.
