A solid 4 Taco's
First, Great app, I love it and since buying it I have been using it every day.
This is good as it shows the product has a lot of value, it also shows me a lot of the shortcomings of the product as well.
I will skip the praise and just say what the issues I am having are.
1. Some times previous designs just don't load up. I am not sure if its a lack of server space or bandwidth from Crello, or what.. what my previous designs just hang in the loading section. Forcing me to rebuild them. :/
2. Some times when I download a design, the downloaded design is not the same as the one presented on the web page. The text may not be in the right place or vanished altogether. I have to go in, edit the text, and click the save button then it may work.
3. Lack of a make a shape tool. A toolbox with some simple shapes that I can drag out would be great (Stright line with line thickness, a box, circle, hexagon.. and so forth) right now, I have to search for a shape and then I am locked into it... No just like, draw a box and resize as you wish.
4. I tried to make a 5x7 print poster. When I downloaded it, it was at a very small PX by PX size, it was pixilated and not readable. Tried to download as a .jpe and .png.. both were way to small... I had no options to set the px size in my download.
5. Lack of text effects such as drop shadow and stroke. These are some basic effects that are needed to help text pop from a design more.
6. No layers panel. If an element is dragged off the screen, I have no way to get it back, I can't click it, I cant select it... and I don't know where it is. A panel that shows the layers and their order is needed and enabled to select the different elements from within it. (Box over text, nope... I got to move the box to select the text... too much time)
I have a few other points as well... but all in all a good program.
A solid 4.
Fix the above and you will get a solid 6 from me!
Thanks for being awesome.

May 9, 2024Hi there!
Thank you for taking the time to write down such a detailed review.
As for the "cons" points you've mentioned in your review we would like to add some comments:
1) In April we had a big release of the upgraded editor tool- it is called editor 2.0 and it enables adding video and animation effects to ALL the design formats that used to be graphic before, such as posters, invitations, flyers etc. This means that from April all the new designs were created on Editor 2.0 and designs created before April were created on Editor 1.0 version this is why some elements may not render automatically when you open your "old" designs in a new version of Crello. If you have any issues with your previously created designs, feel free to let us know and submit a support ticket -here is the link to submit a ticket form: https://support.crello.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
2) As said before, if you have any issues with your design, like elements not looking exactly like on the artboard, you may contact us directly and our dedicated support team will escalate the issue to the tech support to fix your project
3) As for the custom shape tool maker, this sounds like a great idea and we will consider adding it in the future. In fact, we have added the side controls to the square object and you can pull the edges of the square to create a rectangle. Changing ratio when you resize objects is in our plans and will be added in the next versions of the editor.
4) Some formats, like posters, require to be exported in a specific format. Since posters are print formats we recommend exporting them in PDF or PDF Print to ensure the best quality for print. PNG or JPG are image formats and they are recommended when you need an image, say, for a social media, but image formats are not quite suitable for print out.
5) Yes, we know that many users ask about effects and we will add some , like gradients in the near future-follow our updates and subscribe to our email newsletter to be updated!
6) We will also consider adding more layer options in the future- as of now Crello offers lots of ready-made templates for editing and some basic tools for templates creation, but there will be more options as we grow!
