Q: Dumb question perhaps, CubeCP looks very promising, but I see Elementor mentioned so often.

Do the templates require Elementor to be edited?

I'm trying to move towards FSE with Cwicly and GS as my main builders. Would rather not use Elementor. Would I still be able to adjust the mentioned templates?

I currently edit templates like Single Post with those, in the editor. Is there any reason I wouldn't be able to do this with CubeWP?

Second, unrelated question. I'm also building a BuddyBoss community. Would you happen to know if there are any benefits to adding CubeWP to it?

For example, I dislike the look of their default member directory listings/items and how restrictive the design of those is.

Could I instead replace that by a directory of custom posts, creating the cards' layouts in the front-end build and still have every members' card link to their BuddyBoss profile?

Any examples of this that you know of?

Sorry, not a huge expert here, but from what I read I'd think it would be able to do (most of) this.

Thank you.

A: Hi,

Sorry for the delay in our response.

#Q1. I see Elementor mentioned so often. Do the templates require Elementor to be edited?

CubeWP is not dependent on Elementor or any other specific page builder. We have addressed this concern in more details here in this FAQ: https://support.cubewp.com/docs/cubewp-framework/faqs/can-i-use-cubewp-without-elementor/

CubeWP is designed to be compatible with various page builders due to its reliance on shortcodes. Shortcodes are available for all types of forms and custom fields, enabling you to create a wide range of content without encountering obstacles, as long as your chosen page builder supports shortcodes.

However, certain popular page builders, such as Elementor and WPBakery, offer advanced integration and additional custom elements and more builders will be added to the list in the near future.

While we have made every effort to ensure maximum compatibility with all page builders that support shortcodes, if you require compatibility without relying on shortcodes, we recommend reaching out to your page builder’s support team and proposing collaboration with CubeWP. Alternatively, creating a forum thread to seek community support can help expedite the process.

You can definitely create custom post types and single-post pages with CubeWP using any page builder that allows you to edit single-post templates. You can even use shortcodes to display multiple custom field’s data that were captured using either the backend or the frontend post submission form.

To display the custom field data, you can use the following CubeWP shortcode:

[cubewp_post_field field=YOUR FIELD NAME]

Just make sure to replace "YOUR FIELD NAME" with the actual name of the field, not the label that you want to display.

However, please keep in mind that the shortcode will only display the content that was stored in the field when the page was updated.

#Q3. I'm also building a BuddyBoss community. Would you happen to know if there are any benefits to adding CubeWP to it? For example, I dislike the look of their default member directory listings/items...?

You can use the Post Loop Generator to create a custom Post Grid. You can see on our demo website there are multiple post grids/list cards created using Post Loop Generator. https://demo.cubewp.com

#Q4. Any examples of this that you know of?
Sorry we do not have any examples at this time.

If you run into any issue while building you can reach out to our dedicated support team or community forum.

Hey CubeWP, please could you answer these questions as I also don't use Elementor. Is Cubes future focused on Gutenberg? Comments like "Advanced Integration with Elementor and WP Bakery" makes me nervous about your direction. What about Bricks, Breakdance, etc....

Hopefully CubeWP is working with Thrive Themes for advanced integration and additional custom elements as well as it's another powerful page builder.
