Good potential but not ready
The idea of the product is very good and the searching seems to be quick and easy. The interface is slick even though it is not very intuitive but the program seems easy to use.
Except from that, I felt like I was beta-tester of the product because the app is extremely buggy:
- Indexing takes a very long time. It took hours to index few files and with this speed, I might have all indexed sometimes in 2167. (I am on an Alienware Aurora R8 - i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz with 64 GB RAM running Windows 11). And it makes my computer sound like an air-condition.
- Obviously, it takes a lot of computer-resources and sometimes freezes everything so even CTRL - ALT - DEL isn't of any help. I had to do a hard reset a couple of times.
- As if it is not enough (being slow, using resources) indexing pauses now and then with no reasons. The app doesn't tell you if it is indexing, doing something else in the background or whatever is happening.
Then there are small irritating bugs. For example, when you exit program, sometimes it doesn't want to restart after (I had to exit a couple of time because I wanted to play a game and I was tired of listening to my computer sounding like a vacuum cleaner). The app was still running in task manager. I had to stop it there. Then, I tried to restart it after gaming, but it didn't. It showed up in task manager, like it was started, but it was impossible to use. I had to restart the whole computer.
Last but not least: It is very difficult to find support for the product. Of course, right now, they are answering questions in AppSumo, but what about when the sale's time is gone? Because of the trouble with indexing, and because I didn't want to use the App-Sumo questions for my technical problems, I tried to find support on their page... That was difficult, I couldn't see any "support" link on their page. I finally found a contact email-address and I wrote to them but still haven't received any answer.
Yes, I understand, it was evening in Germany, where the app is made, but I thought support was more flexible than that. 1) You can't expect all your customers to come from your time-zone and 2) Especially not when you make a special offer in AppSumo. Seems logical that you will have a need for extra support.
All in all, a product with a good potential, if the bugs are fixed, it might be an excellent product, but usually, I get money to be beta-tester and not the opposite. This is why I'll get a refund and maybe try it again later on.
