Does not work

Based on my first search I can only say it did not work at all.
The company uploaded was a candy store and the search was for candy store owners.
What the app returned was:
- 3 heavy equipment rental exec
-4 Costco execs
-2 eyewear exec
-retail consultant
- 3 pet food execs
- Fashion retailer

Not a single find was even in the same industry let alone providing enhanced data. You are better off just using the basic search functions of Linkedin.

We use a couple backend data providers to help us "map" the lookalike website to certain industries and target markets. Often, it works really well... but it sounds like in this case it didn't work. The Beta Needs Beta-Improvement

I was looking forward to use en easy user-friendly lead generation program that would help me find suitable leads, but my experience was disappointing. The process of creating qualified leads is tedious and often results in irrelevant contacts. For instance, I need the ability to specify the country and profession to find the right contacts. In my case, I'm interested in HR contacts, but instead, I receive results such as programmers, developers, doctors, and team leaders. Even worse are the companies with just one employee and revenues that don’t match our services and products.
Not all .com domains are English.

Additionally, there were frequent mismatches between company names and email addresses, and many contacts were personal emails from providers like Yahoo, Hotmail or Gmail.

Another downside was the lack of language options for composing emails. Even when the website found was in another language, the email is still written in English.
A cool future feature could be the ability to write a series of follow-up emails.

In summary, while the program has potential, it currently needs significant improvements in efficiency and accuracy to be truly useful. Even if it is called Beta.

It has the same potential as TidyCal

Like David said, it's beta. I trust AppSumo will make this software as good, if not better than TidyCal, SendFox and the other Originals. I'm in and curious about the next version. Yes, it can do with some fine tuning, but right now you'll are getting the best price ever. I personally like the vision, it generated 3 leads for me and now I can explore conversations with them leads knowing they have shown intent to buy. Eventually I hope that the AI gets that good that it can help us come up with marketing content or track the prospect to customer journey.

I don't know. I really do not see the value and I do not see the point of it.

Ok, here is what I think from a very cursory glance. I have only spent 10 minutes with it so take my review with a grain of salt.

So far, VERY bare bones. No guidance. Not ready yet.
Remember also, it is PER LEAD. Not per search. And NO REFUNDS.

So you put in your website when you register, then you put in a "website of your example customer below. "
It spits out 3 Linkedin Leads. No explanations on why they might be a good lead, just leads. Then you are supposed to be able to use AI to write them an email or you can go directly to their Linkedin Profile. One of those two things does not work.

You can't really write them an email because it asks you to "Please first add your business information to your profile. " But if you go to your profile, there is no place to put any business information. Just: NAME, EMAIL, PASSWORD CHANGE, AND DELETE ACCOUNT.

The only two other things you can click are one: ACCOUNT, which just has how many leads you have left and what AppSumo plan you chose. or two: PRICING, which is just the other plans and a FAQ with three answers.

You should know that you can't change your website that you initially put in when registering.
You can't select which country you want results from.
You can't really change anything except your name, timezone and password.

When you get a lead you get:
Name - Company - Title - Country - LinkedIn
The only thing you can click is Name and Linkedin.

Clicking name gets you pretty much the same info you would get from their Linkedin, but you can make notes. If you try to compose an email in the Name area, you get an error "Oops! Something went wrong on our end. We're working on fixing it. Please try again in a few moments. "

Anyway, if I can't change my website, then this is really a waste for me. My website is not at its full potential (and if I update it, I am not sure that CustomerFinder will reupdate it), so I was essentially just trying this out. If I knew I couldn't change it, I would have put in a competitors website because the results would be the same.

In conclusion, Appsumo usually puts out amazing "originals" but this really is nothing more than gathering a few Linkedin pages. I do not see what is special about that. I do not see what qualifies that person as someone I should contact, I do not get any deep insights into why they would be a good client for me. I do not really see the point and since the email aspect is not yet functional, you are really not getting much bank for your buck. It is pretty amazing to me that Appsumo would even launch this without the basic functionality of a basic app working. It does TWO things and one is broken? Really?

Even if they are feeding me BS, I would like to know more about how people are selected and why. I would like to be able to change my website to a competitors. I would like more insight than what is offered on a Linkedin page. It would be nice if this did other things as well as just get you 3 Linkedin pages. I am pretty underwhelmed.

I regret this one. I should have tried the 19 dollar version 1st. $100 bucks US is like 10 Bazzillion Canadian Pesos.

I am giving it 3 Tacos because of the trust I have in Appsumo in general, but I would really give it 1 for the value and for the price. And since it is Appsumo itself, it should absolutely be refundable.

Update: Thank you so much for the kind response. You didn't chat about the email not actually working, and no place to put in business details. And it would be great to allow people to change their website.

Anyway, I do love and continue to love Appsumo. And sometimes I am critical because you guys do inexplicable things at times, but I want it to be a great place and I think feedback helps.

Although it's unprecedented/unusual for AI products, we did update our refund policy to allow refunds. Any customer can now get a refund, which means we'll eat any costs of generation on our side and you can get all your money back. Sorry for any confusion there, but if it's not the right fit for you, you can now refund.

As for your other suggestions, we use a variety of data sources and AI to generate "lookalike" prospects. This is great insight you provided about better exposing details about the matches, and something we'll definitely consider.

As you see all over the product, and this deal page, this is a beta product we're limiting sales so we can see the feedback people have (and it's priced ultra affordably accordingly). We'll keep making it better thanks to the feedback and encouragement of people like you.
