I've had this thing for an hour and it's working
Very easy to use; it didn't make me break my head. It didn't exactly know what to do with my A in my domain registry but eventually, with a little ChatGPT, I figured it out and it worked almost immediately.
I am blown away that I have a URL that is micro right now. Thanks for making me feel cool and for helping me find a solution to ongoing subscriptions. For me this is really a treat. I love having a very tiny URL so being able to leverage it is unbelievable, and to leverage it within maybe 20 minutes of using it is fantastic.
The one thing that ChatGPT warned me about is that if I want to make the slash after my domain without letters in front of my domain, I would need to give this site full access to my domain? I don't think I want to do that. I have another thing in my A record so I'm not sure if I can easily fix that, but I found a slight workaround that's okay for now (not ideal but pretty good)

Apr 18, 2026Really appreciate you taking the time to write this — and honestly, this was a fun one to read.
Getting a custom short domain live within ~20 minutes (even with a small DNS hiccup) is exactly the kind of experience we’re aiming for, so it’s great to hear it clicked that fast for you. And yeah… that “this is actually my tiny URL” moment hits differently 🙂
About the root domain (slash right after your domain):
ChatGPT is partially right, but it can sound scarier than it actually is.
You don’t need to give us “full access” to your domain in a risky sense. What’s required is just pointing your root domain via DNS (usually an A record or ALIAS/ANAME depending on your provider). The tricky part is exactly what you ran into — if you already have something configured on the root (like a website), then it becomes a tradeoff.
That’s why a lot of users:
• use a subdomain (like go.yourdomain.com), or
• keep the root as-is and use a workaround like you did
So you didn’t do anything wrong — you actually picked the safest and most flexible route for now.
If you ever want help setting it up cleanly (without breaking what you already have), just reach out at [email protected]. Happy to guide you through options based on your setup.
Thanks again for the support — and welcome to the tiny URL club 🚀
