A first glance in the future of wordpress and I really like it
Really impressed by Cwicly. Taking into account that it is a project in an early stage, it is already usable for most of my most common projects.
And let's be clear, it stablishes a path to follow. I don't know if the fact to be the first of its specie would be enough to be the reference, but if we take into account the strenght of the concept, the possibilites, the deep integration with the core of wordpress, and the potential there are NO reason for no stacking three codes.
And yes, you read properly, my recommendation is stack three codes or try with one with the intention of stacking three.
For me doesn't make really sense stay just with one.
Why?
Because is not a builder for a single or a couple of projects. You must know that, because you are not buying a web builder (beside you can use for that), you are buying a theme builder that tries to maximize the possibilites of FSE from the first day.
And the logic and most profitable use for that is to build prototypes (themes) to use in many websites.
In fact, with the use of some plugins and the possibilites of the integration with ACF, you could achieve to make wordpress something very similar to a headless CMS and create themes with the focus on making the life of the final user easier.
But, on the other hand, if you stay with just the stacking of one code, I truly believe that the harder curve learning in comparation with other web builders or block collections don't deserve the effort.
Because as I see it, this is clearly a tool for web designers, marketers and even developers that want to stay with Gutenberg and making his workflow faster.
Let's be clear, Cwicly cannot replace all the features of other tools, but they have made the most clever move at the moment, build a tool on the shoulders of a giant. Gutenberg will evolve, FSE will improve, and Cwicly will evolve with it. I am sure that if Cwicly finds his spot in the market will growth in features fast... because they just have to worry to make his part of the job: security, speed, compatibility issues all of this key and complex aspects of the development of a tool like this will be minimized by the fact they run on the shoulder of Gutenberg and by extension WordPress development.
Cwicly is a bet that anyone who works with wordpress should take. Sky is the limit for this tool. Hope it grow as I expect.
