Q: Bot data
Hi,
Can we make the bots only have the knowledge of the training data?
We might need this because we want the bots to answer questions only relevant to the website, not generic questions.

May 22, 2025A: Hi,
Our bot primarily relies on the training data provided by users to answer questions related to their brand, products, or specific content. To ensure the responses feel natural and human-like, the bot may slightly vary the wording of its answers so it doesn’t respond with the exact same sentence every time but the meaning will remain consistent.
Additionally, the bot can still answer basic general knowledge questions that are common knowledge (e.g: "a tree is a plant"). This ensures a balanced and user-friendly experience, while still prioritizing the custom data you've uploaded.

So it's possible a customer could ask a question about our service and get an irrelevant answer from chaptgpt. Can external responses be turned off 100% so answers are based only on trained material? Also, if an answer is given that could be improved, can the response be revised so the next response contains the updated response?
Hello there! The bot will answer questions about your business or brand using the knowledge base you give it. But for more general, common knowledge questions, it may still rely on its own built-in knowledge. While we offer options to limit off-topic responses, the bot can still handle general queries, and we're continually working to improve how it understands and learns.

You didn't answer the last part of the question about revising responses - ie. tweaking data that has already been trained.
eg. A response is given that is not complete and I want to add directly to that response so when the same question is asked subsequently - the answer given will be complete by using the updated/revised training info.
Ah, my apologies for the oversight. Yes, you can absolutely make changes to your training data. Everything the bot has learned is stored in the "Knowledge Base," where you can freely edit or update the content as needed.

So unless I'm missing something - you can only modify what's in the knowledgebase. So if a customer asked a question that is not in the knowledgebase and get an answer which is not accurate I can't revise it? I would like to see every unique question that was asked and the response the AI generated and be able to edit the response. This would facilitate extending the knowledgebase and the AI.

To clarify above question/comment ...
I need to be able to review the customer's history chats and if the chatbot is not replying correctly to a certain question, I want to fix the response add it on-the-fly to the training/knowledgebase. Can I do that?
Hello there! Yes, this functionality is fully supported in CX Genie. You can enable it by navigating to Bots > Settings and find the Learning from Conversation section. There, you’ll have the option to allow the bot to either learn immediately after encountering an unfamiliar question, or to queue the question in a waitlist for admin review before it’s added.
You can find more details about this feature in our documentation here: https://documents.cxgenie.ai/bots/settings#id-2.-learning-from-conversations
