Q: Is scraping against Terms of Use?
Is it ok to use your tool to scrape data from websites? I thought data scraping was against the Terms of Use for most websites? Your own website's TOU even says that people are not allowed to scrape the databar.ai website, so why do you offer a product that does that for others?
"Except as may be the result of standard search engine or Internet browser usage, use, launch, develop, or distribute any automated system, including without limitation, any spider, robot, cheat utility, scraper, or offline reader that accesses the Site, or using or launching any unauthorized script or other software."
Does databar.ai have special authorization? I don't want to break website TOU!

Sep 13, 2024A: Hi Sarah! All of the scrapers that we provide on our site are for publicly available data, not behind a login wall or behind a paywall. For datasets that are protected or that have a TOU attached, we partner with data providers. For example, we have a direct partnership with Owler which allows us to collect data from Owler's official API on fundraising & company data. You may need to check your local laws to be exact; however the connectors on our site are focused on public data which is legal to collect in the US.
