Sold out

When you aren’t a tech wiz, designing business rules can feel like you've got three broken graham crackers to build a gingerbread house. (That's still $2000/month rent in New York.)

No matter how many coding boot camps you attend or how great your IT team is, you still need to find a way for all your employees to create and manage business rules logic.

It’s time for a no-code, rule management tool that’s intuitive to use and packed with dynamic features to power your most complex business rules.

Introducing DecisionRules.

At-a-glance

Overview

DecisionRules is a no-code rule engine that lets you build complex business rules and design custom rule flows to optimize results.

With DecisionRules, you get an intuitive, easy-to-navigate UI that lets you create decision tables with just a few clicks—no coding skills required!

Create rules, introduce variables, and input metadata for each table using the built-in, Excel-like functions, or even customize your own values.

The tool features a simple, no-code input and output editor as well as a JSON edit function, and lets you export table conditions as JSON code or an Excel document.

A test bench is built into the decision table designer, so you can quickly run your rules to test and debug them, all without leaving the DecisionRules interface.

Decision tables UI

With a simple decision table UI, anyone can create and modify business rules—no tech expertise required.

Want to show off your tech skills? Use DecisionRules’ scripting rules to create and manage more complex, customized rules using code.

You’ll be able to write rules in JavaScript and use the Monaco editor to help with pre-populated syntax for easy programming.

Plus, you can even code your simpler decision tables into the more technical scripted rules to create a rule management system that supports all levels of complexity.

Scripting rules

Write more complex logic using JavaScript and code in your decision tables to create involved rule systems.

DecisionRules lets you organize rules into private spaces, making it easy for your entire team to collaborate and manage all the rules related to their tasks.

Divide rules by department so employees can access and edit rules inside their designated spaces.

You can even use spaces to manage environments based on a particular project or software life-cycle, sorting by phases like development, testing, and production.

You’ll be able to grant access and customize roles and permissions for each user in a space, as well as invite colleagues into their space via email.

Private rule spaces

Create private spaces where your teams can work together to access and modify designated rules.

You can also connect decision tables or scripting rules to create logical rule flows that optimize rule management.

Map input variables and output data for each rule, and link them in your desired order on a drag-and-drop canvas to enable data flow between your rules.

You’ll be able to test your rule flows using the debugging tool, and view results from each step.

Plus, DecisionRules is equipped with version control, so you can store past versions of your rules and recover them at any time.

Rule flows

Connect your rules on a visual drag-and-drop canvas and map out logical flows for rule execution.

Whether you’re managing a business or trying to win at Monopoly, you need to know the rules in order to succeed. (“IF I pass Go, THEN I collect $200.”)

With DecisionRules, you’ll get an intuitive way to build complex rules and create team-specific rule management spaces so your entire company can run more efficiently.

Work smarter by sticking to your rules.

Q: Is it possible you reconsider the 'All future Small Plan updates' and maybe tie this to the 'Medium' plan future updates ?

The Advanced Role management in the Medium plan would 'fit' to the higher level feature/capabilities/functions offered in the AS Deal. Having Basic permissions with tied to this capabilities is out of sync.

You'd need/want the Advanced role management given the AS deal plan. Please consider revising this. Or at least upgrading this under the AS LTD plans.

A: Hey,

All the future updates are based on the small plan, as of now, we are not considering a change. The application is already heavily discounted, since you pay only once and not on a monthly bases. You also have to pay to the cloud provider on the monthly basis not once in your lifetime ;)

Are the Advanced Role Management permissions already included in TIER 2+, or did I misunderstand your question?

Regards,
Erik

Q: Was hoping you'd stick around for a little while more.

Will you stay for another 3 days for appsumo plus members?
Are you increasing the price or actually leaving?

Q: Reading through the questions and answers here was a bit of a wild ride.

I have a few questions, but I was so exasperated at the lack of answers to real life use cases that I want to provide a few in case others find them useful.
Each of these is not only possible with this deal, but is also a real life scenario from clients I develop for.
- I have a wholesale client that uses price discrimination. Each of their ~10000 products has a series of price rules that determine the final selling price for their customers, depending on customer account type, season and the availability of stock levels that need to be compared to SLAs and projected sales to maintain customer contracts. The price rule itself is a formula that uses several variables, like cogs, markup tolerance, etc. While they're able to manage these with the solution I built for them, DecisionRules supports more functions out of the box, (and therefore more customized rules) than I built for them.
- I have another client that sells product kits. Each kit has anywhere from 3 to 20 components across a few different base configurations. Not all component combinations are compatible with all configurations and each time new components are manufactured, I have to change the legacy code base, which is a pain. DecisionRules allows these kit configurations to be constructed accurately with the client able to add new components at will.
- When building software, I don't always know what the business logic is up front. Sometimes clients are experimenting with new workflows and procedures that aren't codified yet. With DecisionRules, I can support this crazy development process by simply putting what I know of the logic in it instead of my code base and during demos, easily switch out the logic as necessary without having to update the code base right then and there. This also allows the client to collaborate with me more efficiently, which is likely to help them get to an actual decision about the logic quicker, as the demo is pretty much when the client does their best thinking.

Questions:
1. Is access to your BI API included in this deal? I bought Tier 4, in case it matters. If not, what do I have to do for access? Specifically, I'm looking for access to the audit endpoint.
2. There are conflicting answers below in earlier discussions, so what is the decision table row limit per table? What is the total row limit across the entire account?
3. What are the account upgrade options, when I need them? Will I forfeit my Tier 4 license to move to a customized monthly plan, or will the monthly plan stack on top of my Tier 4 license?

Thank you and good luck. This is a difficult market to compete in as I'm sure you know.

A: Hello,

Thank you for your comments and for sharing information about your use/business case on how you use the DecisionRules. We hope it will help your company in the day-to-day business.

Questions:
1) The BI, via a connector to the database is currently available only on the on-premise or private managed cloud. Our team will release an Audit API on the SaaS which will be available also for the AppSumo clients.

2) It was my mistake, there can be 1k rows in each Decision Table in all tiers. If you need more please contact us at sales@decisionrules.io and we can figure out something for you.

3) The AppSumo deal is a limited offer. Some limits can be increased, but the additional charge would be made on a monthly basis. We recommend opting in for a monthly plan if you need a custom-tailored package.

I hope it helps.

Regards,
Erik
