DecisionRules

Product details

Q: Hey, I was interested in buying this deal but would like to know if you plan to develop, maintain and support this product over long term?

I checked your website and tried to read all documentation, it seem you haven't built many YouTube videos to show case any scenarios.

I would like to ask:

A. What is the difference between solver API (as offered in all plans) and Management API (as offered in tier 4 only)? This aspect is not clear to me.

B. It seems startup plan which you are offering to sumolings has only community support, so clarify upfront, if you will respond to any queries related to how to incorporate your rule engine in our online websites? I run a eCommerce clothing store with multiple categories and subcategories and would like to use this engine for it. I also run a small digital media company so need to know applicable use cases in such scenario.

If you upload some detailed videos explaining each function and how to use it along with some articles for people with basic API skills, it will help.

C. Do I need to spend money on Zapier as well to use your tool? Is your solver API similar to Zapier, Integromat, Pabbly and other API solutions in market which help to automate workflows. An example could be sending website form data to Google sheet.

D. It seems you offer on premise solution but it looks like it is for big companies and not for startups and bootstrap companies operating with staff of 1-25 people. Is this true, what can be done with on premise solution which can't be done with your SaaS platform? Are we small businesses at some kind of disadvantage here?

A: Hello Suzanne,

Thank you for reaching out.

A. SOLVER API is used for decision-making process = to run the rule on the particular input and you get the output. Management API is used to maintain your rules without using the front end, e.g.: moving the rule from one environment to the other one, updating the rules,... It is used more for automatization.

B. Community support SLA is in all the plans, which means if you open a ticket on our support portal of any bug/issue our team solves it, but there is no guaranteed response and resolution time. If you want to ensure to have your issues fixed on time we recommend you to go for a different SLA plan which you can find at decisionrules.io.
If you are interested only in the implementation support we also offer, please contact us at sales@decisionrules.io

C. Currently we do not have any integration with the mentioned tools. The reason is simple, all the rules are different (they are created by the end-users). However, we are having an internal discussion on this topic to create a universal Zapier integration, but it will not cover your example - sending the data to DecisionRules, because you will have a custom input/output which cannot be defined in a universal connector. On the other hand Zappier, Pabbly,.. are not mandatory to do API calls.

D. On-premise is not only for big companies. The deployment model very much depends on the architecture of the solution, the IT strategy, and data privacy,... The on-premise is not a part of the AppSumo deal. The solution whether it is an on-premise, SaaS, or private cloud is the same, the difference is only in the hosting. On-premise can be deployed on your servers, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud,... which will be maintained by your company, but we can help you with the initial setup/ongoing support. NO, no matter if SME or enterprise, there are no differences. DecisionRules is a rule engine that can be used by any company of any size for an affordable price.

Regards,
Erik
