Matt_S_HQ: Form to pdf generation
Hi Andreas,
I'm currently looking for a solution that will take form values and insert them into a template which is generated 'on the fly' into a pdf. I may subscribe to PDF Monkey but if the process of pdf creation could be done in the same app as the form that would be stella.
I can create a template from raw HTML and insert variables (or other formats like a Google Slide/uploaded markdown).
So I'm looking to see if this is possible within Deftform either natively or with intergrations. It's not possible with just Google Docs API because of their document 'tab' system.
Could you confirm:
a)Any plans to add Zapier/Ottokit integrations?
b)Could this work flow be arhived natively or with integrations within Deftform using Sheets/Webhooks/API?

I'm not 100% sure what kind of PDF you want to generate (can you provide an example, maybe directly via our ticket system on Deftform?). We already generate a PDF for each response (if enabled), that's also available as an API endpoint. But it's not possible to use a custom HTML template (yet).
Zapier integration is still planned. Never heard of Ottokit before. Seems like there is a new automation tool every other week now...
Implementing a way for customers to use a custom HTML template for the PDF is definitely doable, I'm just not sure if enough people have a need for this. But I added it to our backlog and we'll evaluate if it makes sense this is something Deftform should have.
I'd be happy to add it to the ticket system on Deftform but I can't find it - do you need to be an existing custom.
Potential pdfs to generate from a custom HTML template:
- Proposals/Invoices (branded template setup - just customer details and quote details added from form)
- Reports (branded template setup - key metrics added from form or different automation)
