What a maze of unfinished tools and weird UX
What a maze of unfinished tools and weird UX
On paper this this thing looks awesome - lots of features, good price etc.
But when you start to use it - wow, what a train wreck.
Examples:
Two way sync with gmail works, until it doesn't, then it does again. But it isn't really two way sync because if you send a message in gmail it doesn't show up in Deskera. Also seriously, why are we using IMAP for this? I had to create an app password for 2FA etc. This is so simple to hook into Google properly these days.
Automation is a complete mystery to me - it looks simple but I couldn't really get anything working in any tangible way. Drip campaigns aren't possible by the looks of it (despite having some blog posts on it that don't really explain anything).
SO MANY UX BUGS - In sales CRM and want to go to another app. Click the home button. Oh wait, that takes me to my user profile. Press it again, oh now I'm home. Honestly, it's pretty frustrating as this happens a lot in all sorts of areas in the product.
OK we just got a deal in the CRM sales pipeline (which by the way you can't change in any way, you have to create a second pipeline). Let's send them a quote. Head to the finance section and you have to enter the customers details in again. There's no sync. Maybe that's what the automation section is for but that doesn't work.
Quotes seem to be locked to your local currency. There seems to be no way to change a customer to another one. Or at least I couldn't work it out. This seems to be one of many issues with this part of the tool (read the other reviews in Appsumo)
"Powered by Deskera" appears as default in Marketing emails. Get out of here with advertising your product in something we've already paid for!
Even if some of these have workarounds, the UX is so damn confusing at times that I give up.
This is a prime example of a product that looks and sounds like it'll be cool, but they've done the bare minimum on most features and it's nothing but frustrating to use. I really hoped to be able to move away from Pipedrive/Invoice Ninja, but this is just a trainwreck.
