I think the effort to cancel our TLD and force us to switch to a subscription model is just another symptom of a dead project. Their changelog hasn't been updated in years. That can happen, but this approach is certainly not a good reflection on Vivek or AppSumo (is this really AppSumo Select?)
Dewstack only ends the the platform to effectively terminate the "lifetime" promised to Sumolings.
Now, unless Dewstack is going out of business entirely, "sunsetting" a platform just to move lifetime plan holdings to a subscription model is a breach of the of the lifetime purchase.
Dewstack Killed My Lifetime Deal — And Their Reputation With It
Four years ago I was singing Dewstack's praises to anyone who would listen. I was a genuine advocate — recommending it, defending it, and believing in what they were building.
That ends today.
They just emailed to inform me that my lifetime deal is being terminated on July 7, 2026, with a forced migration to paid annual subscriptions. The word "lifetime" apparently has an expiry date on it.
This is my first public statement. It won't be my last. I will be making it my mission to ensure every prospective customer knows exactly what Dewstack thinks of its most loyal early supporters.
If you're considering Dewstack — don't. There are better platforms run by people who honor their commitments.
Avoid Dewstack and anything by Vivek. Sadly he is a Charlatan

We understand this changes the terms of your original purchase, and we don't take that lightly. But the software landscape four years ago and today are unrecognizable, and Dewstack has to evolve with it.

Dewstack never honored the future features of "scale" plan from the start and rather than continue to provide us access to what was promised or refund us, his remedy is to coerce us into paying half of an annual plan price that I cannot imagine anyone is actually paying. Dewstack competitors always offered a lot more features for less money even with his "50% off" its still not competitive. Him signing off thanking us and appreciating our trust while breaking it repeatedly with every update we were locked out of to then finally slam the door shut is incredibly low and speaks volumes to the type of person he is. Even if he does not reply this, I know he is lurking and reading the fallout.
so my message to him is
Vivek, We are all linked together through this, You willingly took advantage of our trust, and You still owe us. You will repay us all in this life or the next.
Sunsetting the legacy Dewstack, for which I already paid 3-figures, and just because he added AI that I didn't ask he removes what I paid for and now asks for: Starter: $192/year ( Original price $384/year ) Pro: $444/year ( Original price $888/year ) Premium: $744/year ( Original price $1488/year ) This is a big problem for Appsumo, don't wonder why sales are down. Since vendors are allowed to this there is no longer the trust that used to exist.
