Q: Video Uploads and Embed Features
My use case is a little different, I don't want to start a podcast. Can I use Disctopia to share video capture with clients? For example, if one specific client requests a video recording from a job site, can I deliver it to him on my site, from an embedded video on Disctopia? If so, would the link to the video be made unlisted on the platform?

Jan 24, 2025A: Thank you for your question! Disctopia can be adapted for use cases like yours, where you want to share video content with clients. Here's how it would work:
1. Can You Use Disctopia to Share Videos with Clients?
Yes, you can use Disctopia to upload and share video content. The platform supports:
Video uploads: You can host video files securely on Disctopia.
Embeddable player: Videos can be embedded on your own website or shared via a link.
2. Sharing Videos with Specific Clients
Unlisted Links: Videos on Disctopia can be made unlisted. This means they won’t appear in public searches or on your Disctopia page, ensuring only those with the direct link can access them.
Embedding: You can embed the video on your website and provide the link to your client. This makes it easy for them to view the content without needing access to Disctopia itself.
3. Privacy and Control
Access Restriction: While Disctopia does not currently offer password protection or advanced access controls for individual videos, making the video unlisted adds a layer of privacy.
Client-Specific Sharing: Each video can have its own unique link or embed code, so you can deliver tailored content to specific clients.
4. Limitations to Consider
No Advanced Client Portals: Disctopia does not currently support client-specific dashboards or restricted access per client.
Basic Privacy: While unlisted links provide a basic level of security, they are not as robust as platforms offering password-protected links or multi-layered access controls.
Use Case Compatibility
For your scenario—sharing videos with clients in a straightforward and visually professional way—Disctopia can work well if your privacy needs are moderate. If you need advanced security features (e.g., passwords, time-restricted links), you might want to supplement Disctopia with another platform that specializes in that functionality.

Holy smokes, what a detailed answer, I wish all app contributors would take note of this approach. It sounds like this would work perfectly, and client specific portals aren't necessary. I'm glad I picked this up, I can't wait to activate the account. Thanks so much!
