Q: You got me.

When I saw the name I thought this was gonna be something like v0.dev that just builds sections for you with AI, even out of a picture and just generates clean code and then lets you iterate on top of it with ai.

With a name like that DivMagic and given that it's 2024 I was not expecting such a low tech tool.

Still cool but I wonder if it is not obsolete already.

With v0.dev you can do this with a screenshot of a page and don't need to worry about any weird code stuff or JS messing with anything or fonts. It will just capture the essence and code it for you.

A: That's a fair point. However, v0.dev and DivMagic are solving different problems.

1) DivMagic will give you pinpoint accuracy while also providing small and reusable code. None of the AI tools that is available today (including ChatGPT) can provide this level of accuracy.

2) The main problem DivMagic is trying to solve is to go from a business idea to actual working website with a nice UI without thinking about the UI part. We're still not there but we're going to get there eventually. With v0 and ChatGpt, the user needs to provide all the design information such as "make this bigger, make that red". How would the user know that the design will be better if that element is red and bigger? DivMagic's primary purpose is to completely remove the UI design thinking part from developers' workflow.

3) Making changes in AI tools (v0 and ChatGPT) are time consuming. Looking at v0 website, some designs needed 30 prompts to move the text around and change its color. Adding the time it takes to write the prompt and wait for generation, that's easily more than 10 minutes just to make a small adjustment for a single component.

4) We do realize AI will get better but so will DivMagic. The overall goal is simple (as I mentioned above), go from business idea to a website with great UI without spending time thinking about the UI

All that being said, we're not saying one is better than the other. Both AI and non-AI tools can coexist and we do think there are use-cases for each one.

It's not just about staying current with trends; it's about choosing the right tool for the right job.

Thanks for the reply, but your point 2 and 3 are null.

As I said, v0.dev works with an image input. You can just upload an image and it will capture the text, the colors and style.

And then you have the code you are not stuck in the world of ai prompts, you always get the code to do whatever you want.

And the prompts to reiterate are an advantage. Not a limitations, as again, you have the code from step 1 that you can take and leave. If you want to play around with it you can however you want.
