Q: Marketplace administration
Why can’t marketplace owners delete vendors and their content directly? With stores inevitably closing, the lack of this basic administrative function means the marketplace will accumulate inactive accounts. There are also legal concerns around retaining people’s data without consent. Can someone explain the reasoning behind this limitation, and is there a timeline for when this will be resolved?

At this moment, the option to delete vendors directly is not available on our platform. However, marketplace administrators do have the ability to suspend vendors, preventing them from using their accounts, while still keeping the data intact. This ensures that vendors cannot re-register with the same email address on a new marketplace.
The reason for the absence of this feature is related to some technical challenges in managing the associated data and calculations when a vendor is deleted. Specifically, there are complexities around ensuring that any related data, such as sales and transactions, is handled properly. These issues are being addressed as part of ongoing improvements to the platform.
We understand that this is an important feature, and while we cannot provide a specific timeline at this moment, our product team is very aware of the need and is actively working on it.
