Lightweight and Powerful Job Board Solution

Honestly, I have my qualms and gripes with AppSumo, but some of my side hustle clients needed a solution and saw this, so alas, I had to bend thy knee and get it for them.

That being said, for everything I feel against AppSumo, I admire what Dropboard is doing here. Even after talking to Colin, it sounds like the future is very bright and that he has a very firm grasp of the vision he wants to run with - and is very receptive to feedback and suggestions.

The overall experience is very intuitive as the admin or Recruiter, such that you can very easily create jobs on behalf of clients, or simply create the boards and filter by your clients, then invite them so that they can manage the jobs via the client portal, which will automatically propagate as a result.

Some of the customization options are a little limited, but honestly, it does force a cleaner UX for the end-user, which I respect. You don't want people to hinder the UX because of what they perceive is "best" at times. Though you can update the background, text, and action colors, which should allow for a pretty cohesive experience, all things considered. The custom sections and fields are a great addition so that you can really make the process its own from client to client; you're not intrinsically limited in that sense to what the platform dictates.

I do run some of my sites on Bricks, so there's a known compatibility issue, here's the code that remedies it if you paste it immediately following the code: https://pastebin.com/1TXsu0j6
Colin seems to be working on a fix that should resolve that 'natively' in the future.

One important thing to note, and it does give you a message in the platform, is that it can take a little bit of time for changes to be reflected on the front-end, such that if you update the filter for a board to only show a single client's posts, that won't be immediate, so don't expect it to be - give it a few minutes and it will work as expected.

I would like to see maybe a PDF previewer in the back-end, since a client might not want to download every single PDF if a candidate simply isn't a viable option. When you export all results, you do get the URL, and many clients might not have the know how to bulk execute and download those files themselves either. I think it would be a good QoL update so that there could be a little more scrutiny which allows clients to download on-demand instead.

Overall, features, customization, responsiveness and vision of the founder seem to be on point. I think for the price, it's a very generous offering. I'm hoping that Colin can make Dropboard a sustainable product, and I don't see why it couldn't be. You can truly apply the foundation of the product to all types of scenarios, it doesn't have to be solely for a traditional job board in a sense, it could be for freelancers, interns, etc.

Cautiously optimistic about this one (mainly because of AppSumo more than anything).

Thank you so much! I really appreciate all of this feedback. 🫶

We do have a 5-10 minute period between when certain changes and when they show up on a user's browser, and that's because we're being a little aggressive in our caching efforts to make sure your pages load super fast. We are evaluating this to see and may make some modifications.

I love the idea of making the pdf resumes even easier to consume. We'll be thinking about that one!
